Lonely Planet does not understand mobile devices

by First Name KRISTOFF · February 7, 2013

These apps could have been great, but they completely dropped the ball. Apps are not books, the content needs to be reorganized into a more intuitive interface.<br/><br/>Everything that is in the books should be in the app, to retain value, but the apps need to be updated regularly. Constantly.<br/><br/>The problem, im guessing, is that their company is all set up around publishing books, and hasn't spent enough money creating a separate software development division/team.<br/><br/>Do not buy these apps.<br/><br/>Also not optimized for iPhone 5... All this time later. Again shows they have a horrible software division.

Not worth the money! I was very, very disappointed with this app!

Nice UI and useful information

Don't pay $6

by ccih · June 2, 2012

I got it on a free day, and that's what it's worth--certainly not $5.99! It is very difficult to navigate. The lack of a search feature is a huge drawback--it's very hard to find the info you need, and it is very basic when you do finally stumble on it. Deleted. Fodors London is much better, and free.

This app has a very poor UI &amp; no bookmarking capabilities, but the biggest complaint I have is we were continually disappointed to find that restaurants listed in the guide were nonexistent!! This is especially upsetting when you've been walking all day, with children, and try walking to a place in the guide and find the building being renovated!

No way to save bookmarks/favorites?! Big thumbs down. Also a better search is needed, it's ridiculous to have to ferret around to find things.

useless

very disappointing. no search function within the map. no search function within the attraction overview, e.g. markets? no tube map. very poor interface. I wasn't able to use it on my trip. waste of money.
