8 of 17The offline map doesnt work. Descriptions are just what you could get out of wikitravel. Hotel reviews are old. I expected much more from lonelyplanet
Don't waste your money on this app. Not much depth or detail. Not many pictures and the maps are poor. I expected so much more for my $6 bucks.
The map and transit section doesn't cover the whole city. It's pretty useless on the Asian side!
The maps are really old. Transport maps are wrong in some places. Crashes often. Not user friendly. Look elsewhere.
I have always enjoyed Lonely Planet and this app is compact and very useful
I had expected that the app would be optimized for the iPad. It isn't.
I downloaded the Lonely Planet Istanbul City Guide on August 1, 2009, but it would not load onto my iPod Touch (software version 3) despite numerous syncs. Apparently this is a common problem. So far, I've spent US$15.95 for a product I can't use.
I got this app when I went to Turkey last summer. I hoped the app would give me sufficient information to get around the city but it couldn't. I still think there's more room for lonely planet to improve with this city.
