Report an issue“My recommendation is that if you like Risk style boardgames you should by this now; heck, if you generally like boardgames or similar just buy it anyway – you won’t regret it.” (The Wargamer)
“I really like the game and this will be one that I keep on the iPad. It takes a very different approach, which is very refreshing.” (appreviewcentral)

Magnifico (Previously Da Vinci's Art of War) is a popular region-based board game where the ultimate goal is to dominate 16th century Europe. Now you can play it on the iPad!
Players are faced with tough economic and military decisions as they earn Victory Points and attempt to outbid opponents at the auction and get their hands on Leonardo Da Vinci’s most powerful war machines. Every Victory Point has to be earned by careful placement of your troops, construction of fortifications, and invasion of bordering regions. Each new turn brings a chance to acquire Da Vinci’s precious projects and get the upper hand over your opponents.
Cannons, flying machines, bombards, tanks and many more inventions will be available as options at the auction table, but only with a perfect balance of risk and caution will players make the most of them.
Play hard or play clever, Europe’s dominance is just one Victory Point away.
Main Features:
•The only strategy game with Da Vinci’s inventions and works of art! Build Castles, Tanks, Aircraft and much more! •Bid at the auction for Da Vinci’s inventions. •Upgrade your infantry, tanks and aircraft with new technologies to increase reliability and combat power. •Fight battles with wondrous technologies but be careful as tanks can explode! •Many special weapons including the Great Cannon, Submarines, Armoured Ships, Paratroopers and more! •Compete for control of 16th century Europe on a region based map. •Earn Victory points for most castles, territories, technologies, being Magnifico and other special actions. •Single player mode against up to 3 AI players, selected from 10 AI characters with their own play styles. •In depth in-game tutorial and detailed manual. •Available in English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Russian and Chinese! •Based on the popular board game “Da Vinci’s Art of War - Magnifico” created by Spartaco Albertarelli

8 of 15Very frustrating as not-so-bright AI compensates by cheating. Garbage. Do not buy!
A nice war game where it takes skill AND luck to enforce your will. I especially love how the AI, 3 opponents, is always attacking you. But, I usually winde up wiping out 1 or 2 colors... Goal to own it ALL, except for the minimum 3 (1 per color). It would be nice if they added some more weapons or let you play a survival mode. Worth the price of admission...
It's not the best military strategy game I've ever played. It's not the best empire type game I've ever played. It's not the best economics game I've ever played. But it is the most challenging, intriguing and fun to play of it's kind. In fact, it stands alone as a game I can see myself playing for many years without ever getting tired of it. It really is neat. Kudo's to the authors!
Nice little game, goes further than Risk. Worth playing if you are looking for a light to medium complexity war game.
Would like the point system to go up to 70 and add one more difficulty level. Very addicting game!
I liked this game much more than I thought I would. I have played the board game and enjoyed it, so I figured why not try this digital version? I am glad I did! It plays very well, it is stable, and easy to learn the rules. If you like light war games, this is for you. The new maps and new cards (available as cheap in app purchases) are well worth the money, spelling errors and all. One of the best turn based board games on the iPad - give it a try. A lot of fun for a good price.
This is essentially a game of Axis and Allies, or maybe Risk, that has been ported over to iPad. It's a great game: it takes some learning of he rules, but for the most part the tutorial covers a lot of it, and the in-game reference manual is there for people with more patience than I.
This is a great game, it's fun and challenging. The only thing that it needs is multiplayer.
