App will no longer be distributed from the App store - what now?

by TJCacher · July 28, 2019

Was just greeted with a notification from the app that Sony will shortly remove this app from the app store. The notice said the existing app will continue to function, but you won't be able to download it onto a new device. Is there another app that will become the official one from Sony? Their website still links to the app store entry for this app, but surely Sony is not planning to just not have an official remote control app for their flagship televisions. This app is certainly nothing special, but if you fuss with it enough, it can at least get the job done. What are customers to do if there is no replacement app from the manufacturer? I would not purchase a modern television unless there was an officially-supported remote control app from the manufacturer for it, especially from a company selling premium-priced products like Sony.

Sad it’s leaving

I just found this app for my Sony Bravia TV, I have tried about 10 others and this has the most features and easiest Interface, closest thing to a real remote plus a key pad that non of the other had. I would recommend downloading it now before it’s not longer on the App Store

2 stars because when it wants to works, it works excellent. -3 because the app doesn’t connect most of the times

It would be nice to be able to sort or rearrange the app list sequence. Also some of the heavily used program apps (3) could be duplicated on the main remote page as user defined buttons.

It can’t send text to YouTube search field.

Need a update. After new update of YouTube app it can’t send text to YouTube search field. Other wise this app is good.
