F1™ 2012 Timing App CP

NOT worth the money, IMHO.

Expensive. Very annoying non-standard interface for rotating, moving map on screen. If you love F1 and plan to watch every practice, qual and race this season, get it.<br/><br/>Works well, no errors or crashes yet.

I'm a hardcore F1 fan and cannot say enough about this app. the track positions, tire info, weather, pits tops EVERYTHING is readily available. awesome app just awesome!,

I decided to spend the money expecting a exceptional app that would add to my experience of F1.<br/><br/>Sadly nothing special, it works, it has most of the things you need, but very average, definitely not worth the price.<br/><br/>Pls get real and sell apps for what they are worth.

This is the single best app I have ever seen. Expensive? Sure. But so worth it!! It is amazing. The graphics, real time data: Out of this world! Bravo!!!!! If you are a serious F1 fan, or just want to learn, this is the best way to go.

Though I enjoy having the list of cars and their laptimes, the &quot;3D&quot; map of the track is a bad joke. FIrst off, it's not 3D at all, it is a 2D map that can be rotated on a 3D surface. This means that, even though you would only ever want to view the map from directly above, you can also get a useless sideways view of the track in which all the cars overlap and you can't read anything. Also, the map MUST BE focused on a particular car or corner; there is no way to simply set the map so it fills the viewable area; as a result, at least 20% of the screen is unused because most tracks cant be positioned perfectly. The map also has information overlays that cannot be turned off; for example a current one is (and it is in all caps) &quot;WAIVED BLUE FLAG FOR CAR 23 TIMED AT 16:19:22&quot; (I dont know what time they are using, but this is 46 laps into a 57 lap race). Finally, the map displays both a number on the track to represent the car, and the driver's abbreviation next to the number. There should be an option to display either the number or the name; we dont need both bits of information, especially when that information is also on the leaderboard on the same display. And if you try to use the much-touted corner view, you will discover that it's boring to watch colored dots go around a corner. The dots dont even follow a proper racing line.<br/>So, to summarize the map: it is not really 3D, but the fake 3D feature makes it impossible to position correctly, it shows obvious or unhelpful messages that cover parts of the track, and half the track that is visible is blocked by the redundant driver indicators.<br/><br/>The News screen is OK, but the ESPN F1 app has more and better news. The Information screen is nice, and it has the only outstanding feature of the app: a button to show me when practice, qualifying sessions, and races start in my local time.<br/><br/>The app is worth $5. The other $25 are spent on features that should never have been developed in the first place.

I did't have the chance to watch the race on TV today, so I followed it through this app on my iPhone. It worked perfectly and it was actually much better than I'd imagine.<br/>The way they built the program allows you to follow one driver or &quot;watch&quot; the race from above. Plus, you have all the technical information you need. I liked the possibility to jump from one car to the other instantly, knowing exactly the distance to the others, both in numbers and visually in the map.<br/>It's a great app if you're addicted to F1 like me. It's not magic, like many people wished. So, it doesn't fly and it doesn't give you access to the McLaren's Motorhome kitchen, but it's a great app.<br/>I'll test it next week in the iPad.

Terribly awkward and stupid app. Don't buy it.
