8 of 25I want to like this app and use it when I'm out and about, but the location services, or lack thereof, are horrible. It always says I'm in Vermont, but I'm not. I'm over 1,000 miles away. Moving the pin through the app and trying to mark my location is impossible and frustrating. By the time I'm done the butterflies are long gone! Please fix this as it seems to be a common issue. If it's not fixed I plan to ask for a refund. Currently it is not worth $4.99!
I use this all the time!!! not just to identify butterflies but for what plants to buy for my garden to attract them, and the shared sightings lets me know exactly what's in my area only thing I would change is for it to tell you the timeframe when each one flys but overall would recommend to anyone interested in butterflies
No matter what I try, I cannot find several butterflies I have seen and cannot identify. In fact, the app basically tells me I don't know what I am talking about.
Probably the most annoying issue is the default location set to Vermont. You can't seem to change it even your profile is correct. Moving that pin all the way down the east coast for EVERY sighting is ridiculous. To make matters worse you can't move the pin when your zoomed in on the map. <br/>Second complaint is it doesn't remember prior useage like sorting on region. Either remember it or allow default settings.
New 1.7 is still not a field guide if you have to login to save sighting.
This app helps me know what the butterflies I see are. Thanks!
Looks like all of my sightings will be Vermont (although I live in Tennessee) because I have to physically move the little red dot from Vermont to Tennessee for EVERY butterfly I add to a list. POS. I like the numerous photographs.
As others have mentioned, this app does not use your actual location for sightings but rather defaults to Vermont which requires you to drag the pin to wherever you are EVERY TIME you want to record a sighting. Please fix this!
