Inspired by Edgar Allan Poe's novel: The Golden Bug". 1827 – William Legrand, son of a fallen family, came to Sullivan Island, South Carolina, to flee the misery. Wandering on the island, he discovers a rare bug, made of gold. He uses a piece of paper to take it. At night, he draws the bug on this same piece of paper, as he is explaining the adventure to his friend Edgar, standing in front of the fireplace. As William takes back the paper, he realises that symbols appeared on it. It must be an invisible ink, revealed by the heat. From that moment, William thinks it is a Pirate’s document: Captain Kidd’s coded instructions to his hidden treasure… Help William find it!

A THRILLING ADVENTURE: The bug discovery is only a start. Help William decipher the message left by Captain Kidd! Understand the meaning of the codes used in the message, find your way to the different places, and finally dig out the treasure trunk!

USEFUL HINTS: Use the Hint: a shiny halo helps you to find one of the objects. No more hints? Not enough time? Find the bonus stars hidden in the scenes to get more hints or time!

MAGNIFICIENT SETS: Discover Sullivan Island and its darkest places: William’s crumbling shed, the Devil’s Rock, the forest and its wild life, the desert beach, the Bessops manor in ruins… but also the Charleston fortress on the continent.

Small hard to find items or really obvious ones. Like previous rater, I am stuck at the red compass. Not worth the money at this point.

too easy

My twelve year old daughter solved the whole game in about an hour and a half.

Stuck in the woods should be this games name! Wasted money on the game. Please fix OR refund my money!!!! Still in the wood and no refund! I will NOT purchase another app by Anuman!

Where's the update to the original game?

How about a fix/update to the original game? We have complained about being stuck in the compass/woods scene and now we have to purchase again in order to complete the original game...not right! I have reported this to Apple.

Accidental download and glad!

I accidentally downloaded this (going for a different app) but pleasantly surprised by the adventure. Some obvious discrepancies regarding location (since I live just off Sullivan's Island) but great story line! Its a bit annoying that some of the hidden objects are "off screen" or just barely at the edges and have to use the hints and then "shake" the screen to partially see to select the object. (for previous reviewer-hint touch and use the copper pan in your inventory then the fire!)

Not what I expected

As far as hidden object games go, this one and the other ones by HDO are just okay. The banter between the characters was annoying. Why couldn't the characters be stationary, talking to each other instead of moving in and out of the scene. The game was way too short, I like taking my time without being timed. And there should be an "escape" button if one does not want to do the puzzle, if you don't get the puzzle right you have to start over. This game IS NOT worth the $ 4.99, I've seen better hidden objects for this price.

Poor

It's a good story but there simply wasn't any effort put in to make it fun. The objects are often impossible to decipher little scribbles or smudges. At other times the objects are plain as day offering no challenge. Deciphering the code was tediously mindless. Following the path to the treasure made no sense at all. There are just too many really good HO adventure games available made by real game developers to spend your precious leisure time on this one.
