**For more birds see the full version, Chirp! Bird Songs USA**

This free version features the songs of 18 birds from across mainland United States (not including Alaska). On first use, Chirp! will select the birds for your current location, but then you are free to select any area of the United States on the Map Screen, to compare the common species from east to west and north to south. Or you may prefer to select all birds to see and hear all 18.

Tap the name of the bird to hear its song, tap again to stop the song. Tap the bird photo to flip it over and reveal a short description of the song with helpful tips. After listening, try the quiz to test your memory. Answer fast to earn a score multiplier and get on the high score table!

A special feature is that the birds can be arranged in both alphabetical order and also in order of how common they are, so you can learn the most common ones first, then move on to less frequent garden visitors. They can also be grouped by type of song, so you can compare hooting and cooing birds for example.

Make a shortlist of your favourites so that you can find them quickly.

To find out more about the biology of each bird, such as its life history, distribution, habitat, diet, and scarcity rating, click the links for the wiki or the Cornell Lab of Ornithology's "All About Birds" page (internet connection needed).
