Bird songs of Britain and NW Europe! Featuring 80 birds (with more to follow) from the well-known sounds of the Tawny Owl and Cuckoo, to the rare call of the Bittern. Includes up to 40 seconds of song for each bird, and alternative recordings for some birds.

Listen, identify, learn, test yourself, test your friends, find out what bird is in the garden, in the park, or waking you up every morning!

Tap the name of the bird to hear its song, tap again to stop the song. Learning bird songs can be hard, but not with Chirp! Simply tap the bird photo to flip it over and reveal helpful tips plus a short description of the song.

A special feature is that the birds can be arranged in both alphabetical order and also in order of how common they are, so you can learn the most common ones first, then move on to less frequent garden visitors. They can also be grouped by type of song, so you can compare hooting and cooing birds for example.

Make a shortlist of your favourites so that you can find them quickly.

Once you find the bird you are looking for, click on the Wiki link to find out more (internet connection required).

After listening, try the quiz to test your memory. Answer fast to earn a score multiplier and get on the high score table! Use the custom quiz to help learn the songs of similar birds.

Fully translated into French, German, Dutch and Norwegian, plus partial translation into Danish, Swedish and Irish Gaelic. To change the language of the bird names: go to the Settings of the iPhone/iPod and scroll down until you see the settings for Chirp!

Excellent, Elegant, Easy & Fun!

I enjoy my birding three times as much now!! For a native North American living in the EU, this app has been, by and far, the best, most fun way to learn the birds of Europe. The bird call game is simply addicting, I love it. Not only does it make learning each song a breeze, the birds treat these calls just like a real bird. They "talk" right back to me now. That's just a blast! It drives my cats crazy too, which is rather unique comic relief. I've never learned more bird calls in such a short time (It's got to be good "brain exercise" too!). And the price? Fantastic. I was also very pleased to see the addition of more birds. Thank you. Keep up the great work. Thank you so much for this app!!

Very Entertaining - SlideShow option missing

Very good pictures and sounds, I tried the 'cheap' version to upgrade to full version right away. A slideshow option with user settings to control the timing would be wonderful! May be in future upgrade? Thanks all the same.

Great fun!

I really enjoy the bird songs. It helps in my classroom by showing the bird at the time the song is heard. The kids know what to look for. :)

Beautiful and useful app!

Very well made, beautiful sounds and graphics. Even better after the update. Can't wait for the Eastern Europe data! A must for bird lovers.
