Your phone screen must be on or it won’t play… seriously? There are so many music apps with that basic feature so I will stick with Pandora and Spotify. This app is the worst I’ve seen basically due to that simple feature. YouTube is already a nightmare with its advertising. Uninstalled and I won’t be back.
the new update has made the app cleaner and smoother. i would seriously recommended getting a youtube music subscription over spotify or apple music, heres why: 1. comes with youtube premium. watching ads is so obnoxious on youtube to me now. i got spoiled by premium. 2. sleeper algo. youtube music cooks with its suggestions. dont sleep on its algo. 3. you can put youtube videos in your playlists. this is awesome. lots of underground music, long form dj sets, and remixes are on youtube. you would never be able to seamlessly listen to them in your playlist if you had spotify or apple music. theres just access to a massive library thats more open to the public than other platforms.
I don’t even know how long I’ve had premium for yt music, but this app has been getting more and more abysmal each year. Search functionality is somehow regressing and I don’t know if it is licensing issues but the constant dropping of songs is noticeable. I have never ran into this issue on other streaming platforms, but it feels like every day, music I listen to has been pulled. Sure it gets back eventually but overall a frustrating experience.

The quality of this platform is just amazing. Great recommendations, great taste, great ui, and great platform. Deserves way more hype for how good it is and you should def get it
