Office Lens is like having a scanner in your pocket. Like magic, it will digitize notes on whiteboards or blackboards. Always find important documents or business cards. Sketch your ideas and snap a picture for later. Don't lose receipts or stray sticky notes again! Scenarios: - Capture and crop a picture of a whiteboard or blackboard and share your meeting notes with co-workers. - Make digital copies of your printed documents, business cards or posters and trim them precisely. - Printed and handwritten text will be automatically recognized (using OCR), so you can search for words in images and then copy and edit them. Features: - With Whiteboard mode, Office Lens trims and cleans up glare and shadows. - With Document mode, Office Lens trims and colors images perfectly. - Pictures can be saved to OneNote, OneDrive or other cloud storage. - Business Card mode can extract contact information and save it into your address book and OneNote. This feature works best with the following business cards: English, German, Spanish and Simplified Chinese. Support for more languages is coming soon. - Choose to convert images to Word (.docx), PowerPoint (.pptx) or PDF (.pdf) files that are automatically saved to OneDrive.

8 of 15Microsoft Lens is a very useful, single-purpose app that I use often. It quickly turns photos into clean, readable scans that I can save as PDF files, and it works well enough that I regularly use it instead of a physical scanner. What I like most is that it stays focused on the main job. I do not need scanning features buried inside larger apps that require signing in or repeated authentication. I prefer single-purpose tools, and Microsoft Lens fits that preference. I also appreciate not having to rely on a subscription. For my needs, it provides reliable, straightforward scanning to PDF without adding unnecessary complexity.
Integration with OneDrive is awful and I can’t even sign on though the OneDrive app is running on my device. Can’t save to OneDrive, probably due to company policies that expect this integration but fail. Authenticator opens, I enter my email address, the it switches back to lens, where I click on one drive again and repeat the loop.
Best scanner app since 2019 to me
The latest version has an extra screen to ask you to use one drive. Very annoying. I am getting rid of the app totally. Similar screen happens to desktop versions of Office applications. Very bad user experience. They need to fire their software designers.
I’ve been using Dropbox for a heck of a long time, but it keeps on wanting me to drop it to some sort of cloud which is far from what I use. No matter what I can find I can’t find a way to get it to dropbox without saving it somewhere, then moving it or copying it somewhere else. If anyone has a way, please try to reach out to me to explain how to take a snapshot and save it right on my dropbox.
Wonderful scanner, but I am having trouble reviewing past scans because Lens continues to crash. Please fix this issue please. Thank you
Constant adverts for OneDrive, app does everything in its power to make it harder to scan a damn page
