Fiendishly difficult! Adorably cute! Utterly engrossing! How much gold can you get before your entire team is destroyed? IT'S NEVER ENOUGH!

Play The Nightmare Cooperative now - it's a strategic adventure where you lead a group of unlikely comrades through some rather difficult situations. Your village has fallen on hard times (due to reckless spending by the Village Council) and it’s up to you to bring back some gold.

The Nightmare Cooperative is a puzzley roguelike. You control a group of characters, each with different special abilities. The trick? They all move together, as a group. Something of a cooperative, if you catch the drift.

Every playthrough will be different, and you'll always have to start at the beginning, no matter how well (or badly) you did before. Your score is the amount of gold that you pickup during your journey. Opening crates gives you extra gold, but releases more monsters.

Check the Game Center leaderboards to see how well you've done!

A quirky puzzle

by pondpbls · December 27, 2014

Loved it! This is great if you like puzzles combined with a light dose of rpg. This is not a game that you speed through, rather it takes a bit of strategy and thinking to gather new party members and making sure they don't die in the same round.

Fun but glitchy

by Kadrey · September 6, 2014

The game is fun, beautiful, and addicting. I often find myself saying, "One more game." However, the interface is glitchy. Tapping on in-game objects is supposed to cause a "tool-tip" with informative text to pop up; however, the game will often pause for a couple of seconds before displaying the text. Additionally, sometimes random tooltips will pop up for no reason, and I can only dismiss them by summoning a new tooltip. Glitches aside, this is a great strategy game and is worth the cost. I recommend it!

Great Roguelike RPG

by room34 · September 4, 2014

I had never really been into Roguelike games until Hoplite, but this is a great addition to the genre. I love the art style and feel of the game, and the RPG elements, humor, and strategy that slowly reveal themselves as you replay the game just add to its appeal.

Meh

Confusing mechanics, inadequate tutorial, no plot.

Boring and confusing

Didn't like it at all

Hidden gem.

I loved this one- the unique mix of puzzle and roguelike always keeps me coming back with my own invented strategies. Im surprised by its unpopularity.

Interesting game. Not worth the price.

I haven't found anything wrong with the game, but it's not worth what you pay for it.

Addictive, simple, gorgeous, and brilliant

by Kataal · September 25, 2014

Sure, I've played my fair share of rogue-likes, RPGs, and turn-based strategy games, but I've never played anything like The Nightmare Cooperative. I was initially lured in by the gorgeous visuals, but quickly got addicted the the simple and intuitive gameplay, not to mention the endless replayability. One of the best on iOS, hands down.
