SXPD: Extreme Pursuit Force is a brand new form of entertainment that blends gaming with digital comic books. The complete version of this Comic/Game Hybrid allows you to enjoy a full 42 page comic by renowned comic book artist Duke Mighten and then jump right into the action when the story demands it, with its game sections directed by game industry legend David Perry. It is a comic book you can play!

The story revolves around the SXPD, an elite police force consisting of all female officers who enforce the law in the privately owned 52nd state of America; 'New Royale'; a hyper violent and bizarre scifi world.

Chase the gangs and violent criminals of New Royale, in a high speed bike pursuit across the dangerous environments of the dark State. Get lured into the sewers, wastelands and industrial zones of the city. And find out if the Rookie can save New Royale from the terrorists threatening it.

'The Rookie' is the first instalment of many episodes and features 6 chapters of comic book storytelling, and high adrenalin racing game action.

What the press says: Theguardian.com: “One of the most inventive iOS games of 2014 so far.”

Killscreen.com : “just as the action kicks in, you see a panel depicting a first-person view. Swipe, and you dive into the comic book world, without compromise to visual fidelity—there's a beautiful fluidity to be seen as the expressive art style transitions into motion. “

Toucharcade.com: “Dark and violent in nature, SXPD is reminiscent of comic series such as Tank Girl or Heavy Metal, perhaps, and is ideal for anyone who wishes to dive into the world of intense high speed chases, rapid gunfire and earth-shattering explosions.”

Pocketgamer.com: “SXPD crackles with energy. It's an assault on the eyes in the best possible way.”

148appps.com: “SXPD is ideal for any comic book fan who wishes they could dive into the pages of a high-speed chase.”

SXPD features: - A full 42 page comic book by Artist Duke Mighten (Judge Dredd, Afro Samurai, Batman) - 6 chapters of super fast bike combat directed by David Perry (MDK, Earthworm Jim) - 6 Additional arcade playmodes - 3D Deathchase tribute challenge, the ZX Spectrum classic which inspired SXPD - Full GameCenter support, with challenges and achievements

Stylish but empty

by A GUY 111388831 · June 6, 2014

The good: SXPD is a game that came out of nowhere and has an unbelievable amount of work put into it. It is incredibly stylish and incorporates a comic featuring excellent art, and flows smoothly into the gameplay. The color scheme, animations, and overall style are persistent and well-thought out, reminiscent of MadWorld in its style. And the comic panels displayed during the gameplay add another layer to the story. The bad: the gameplay just isn't good. It's tedious and not very fun, and the variety of gameplay options is nonexistent. There are two types of missions, chase missions and combat missions. The comic builds up to the first combat mission and gets you excited, but once you get in the game, you realize there isn't much to do besides shoot your one machine gun and try not to hit the walls. The levels are bland and featureless, and there isn't much in the way of model design because of how far everything is from you. The controls are not very smooth and overall it's just not a fun game. Also, the story moves so lightning fast that the entire world, characters, and plot is introduced to you in one panel. There's no time to care about the characters. In Summary: If you want the cool comic thing, go play MadWorld. It's a very cool idea, but MadWorld is also a very cool, very fun, and very diverse game gameplay-wise, and SXPD, sadly, is not. I applaud Little Chicken for making the effort, however, and will definitely look into their other work.

Crashes every time I try to open...

Crashes every time I try to open it on my iPad 2 (running iOS 5.1.1). Developers: if you squash the bug in an update, please keep the app revision compatible for those of us who refuse to update our older devices past iOS 5 !!

Awesome action!

For awhile I've been searching for racing shoot them up game and this is the one! Not only it's action packed with shooting but there's a manga story line to the game. Game play is fast and feels like your in the driver seat shooting up bad people! Love it!

Tilt controls to sensitive

Looks nice, but tilt controls on ipad air are way to sensitive.

First game I've played where I couldn't get through the tutorial in a reasonable amount of time.

Specifically, the missile part of the tutorial is massively frustrating. Game might be alright, but if it's anything like the tutorial it will be very bad.

Great game
