8 of 15But now it’s a money pit . Don’t expect to play or have any fun if your not spending atleast 200 weekly
War of Nations is a pay-to-win trainwreck that exposes Garden City Games’ gross incompetence in managing a game they didn’t even create. After buying the title, they’ve turned it into a predatory cash grab, with mechanics blatantly rigged to favor players who buy premium bundles. Free-to-play players are stuck in an endless grind, unable to compete with those who pay for overpowered commanders and resources, making strategy a joke and fairness nonexistent. Garden City’s handling of the game is a masterclass in failure. Updates are a disaster, rolling out buggy, half-baked features and recycled content that feel like an afterthought. The Alliance Base, for instance, is a clunky mess, riddled with glitches that go unfixed for months. Players report crashes, exploits, and broken mechanics, but Garden City does nothing, leaving the community to fend for itself. The Discord channel, supposedly for community engagement, is a wasteland; devs dodge player feedback and questions, only showing up to peddle new bundles before vanishing. proving Garden City has zero interest in fostering a playable environment. Rather than improve the game they acquired, Garden City has let it rot, prioritizing monetization over quality. Their refusal to fix bugs, balance gameplay, or engage with players shows a level of neglect that borders on contempt. War of Nations isn’t a strategy game—it’s a mismanaged cash machine, run into the ground by devs who can’t or won’t do their job. Save your time and skip this dumpster fire.
Gcg must be full of people who don’t deserve to work there… they obviously do not know how to manage this type of game… there is a good reason it only has 2 1/2 stars… this company turned it into garbage.. there support is non existent… they can’t fix anything hardly and the FEW things they try to fix end up even worse and causes new problems… there’s things that they could fix but they refuse to simply because they can’t figure out a way to make us pay for it… game use to be kinda free for those who don’t spend on games but that all changed.. now they removed a lot of stuff that’s required in the game that’s always been free or you had to do a task to get it.. well they made it now, where u can ONLY get it by buying it..we understand that they got to make a profit but they have the game leaning so far in there favor now, to where it would take literally $300-$500 a month to stay just competitive.. when u complain about stuff , they completely ignore you. An when they get bad reviews, there responses are always the same.. contact us so we can help… but they NEVER help… this game should have an overall rating of 1s tar… and there support should be ranked -5 stars..
The games age rating isn’t accurate. It claims to be 12+, but, as an example, there is a particular player in W4 that constantly brings religion, sex, and hate to the table. When it is reported, you get the standard boiler plate “we are sorry you had that experience” spiel. It would be much better if the terms of service were respected.
New owners made it impossible to get newest coms for free. Pretty much need to spend 100’s of dollars to even compete. Used to be a good game.
When I first started playing this game, it was actually kind of fun. They have slowly turned it into a pile of garbage. It costs $160 per commander and they release One every month meaning around $2000 per year just for commanders upgrades likewise are also expensive their newest release Would cost you $4000 or take 26 years to collect all the items if you didn’t spend money (not an exaggeration. I did the math.) the game glitches constantly in the most recently glitch they took from me almost 2 months worth of collected items and when I filed a complaint with their customer service department, they blew it off as if it was nothing.. The game is garbage. It’s extremely overpriced 100x what any other game is do not waste your time even downloading it and try it. I’ve officially filed a complaint with Apple to try to get this app removed from the App Store.
Gives error and won’t even load the game on iPhone 16
The other reviews are accurate. You should expect to pay a few hundred a month, and log in daily to play competitively. • There's no useful tutorial. • There's too many different resources that you use for one (or a couple) upgrades. Once that upgrade is maxed, the resource isn't useful anymore. • If you don't pay for the VIP status, you are plagued with 100s to 1000s of taps/clicks. • As you upgrade your account and doing the building upgrades, the scarce resource changes, forcing you to abandon something you spent months upgrading. • There's not been a clear QoL upgrade in ages. -- The developers recently increased the max number of units from 1,000 to 8,000. Now, one of the top units, if you choose to build 8,000 of them, takes several months unless you pay or earn time credits to speed up the process. Nothing like seeing an upgrade timer that is going to take 5,500 hours. Each Factory/Barracks holds 18 slots. I'm thinking if I throw in 18 slots of 8,000 Doom Walker (army units) and it takes 5,500 hours each, i could check back in once every 6-7 months, for 11 years, and it'll eventually get through the training cue... or spend time resources to speed everything up. Let's end with a positive note: There are no outside ads!
