8 of 15Game was addicting at first. Love this type of game. Was able to play along with my 5 and 7 year old boys. We each have our own iPads. It was great bonding. We have been playing for just over a week now and it has lost its charm. We have all reached level 13 or greater. It has become a grind. Buying new property takes half a day (duration increases by about an hour for each subsequent purchase). This is not really fun anymore. Gems are a source of constant frustration. They are super hard to earn. Unfortunately they are also super easy to lose. An accidental click can wipe out your entire stash in a blink. (This has brought both of my boys to tears ). The ease with which gems disappear means it would be stupid to pay real money for more. Might as well set a $100 bill on fire in the driveway! The pace of battles is horrible. The frequent sea battles are either trivial or impossible. They are so frequent that they interrupt everything else. The land battles are a 4 hour grind with a predictable outcome. They are militarily rewarding, but too rare to be of much value. The multiplayer battles are just strange.
I love this game. The graphics are phenomenal and the music is catchy. The doubloon land expansion price keeps going up, but other than that, it's awesome!
The game lets you build a fort, but if you do not have room, you are stuck in the game. It will not let you build it or cancel out of it. I am deleting the app and going to install it again to see if it workd

I had the Playmobil Pirate Ship when I was a kid so I enjoyed it at first. But the game games comes to a screeching halt eventually because you just can't achieve much more than one single thing a day, actually a little more than a day UNLESS YOU PAY PAY PAY.
