~~~~~ And the critics love it! ~~~~~
"Robots & Pencils have done a great job bringing a classic game over to iOS and fans of the original will be able to jump right back in the action with fresh visuals that only add to the original experience. For those players, it's a game that really lends itself to the pick-up and play style, and quick levels make it perfect for gaming on the go. The tutorial also makes it easy for someone who's never played Spy vs Spy to get started, laying out the details without taking too long. Overall, the game looks and plays great and anyone ready for a new iOS game to sink their teeth into should definitely check it out later this summer." - MTV Geek!
"For retroheads, this new iOS version looks set to bring back some warm and fuzzy memories, as - while it may sport upgraded graphics and new touch controls - it's effectively the same game you remember bashing away at on your C64 or ZX Spectrum." - Pocket Gamer
"These features and the strategic gameplay make Spy vs. Spy a fantastic remake and expansion of a classic game. Now, if we could just remember where we put that furshlugginer bomb..." - slide to Play ~~~~ Original game designed, developed and published by First Star Software, Inc.
What a great way to port the original game to iOS. No problems whatsoever. Great job, Robots and Pencils.
Great game
by Ghost and · June 2, 2016
As a big Spy vs Spy fan, I can say that this game is probably the best game based on them. It's fun, interactive, and enjoyable. This game hasn't been updated in two years, so it's safe to say that nothing is being fixed or added in the near future.
Mad rocks
I collect mad magazine and I got to say this is almost as good as the board game.5 stars
It's survival of the meanest!
Seriously, you need to be the biggest douchbag to ever walk the face of the planet in order to win against you're rival in hard mode. The three tricks are; 1. After successfully winning a fight against the rival, wait until his soul is close to disappearing and set the clock bomb in the room and retreat, when he appears again, the bomb detonates and kills him, rinse and start over until his time runs out. That way, you can simply wander around the stage and collect all the items without you're enemy pursuing you to make up for the lack of time left to do so. 2. Hide an item in a room without any counter tool storages (scissors and umbrellas), wait for the rival to enter the room and then barricade the doors with water buckets (or cable pistols, but those take longer to set up) on the doors, you're enemy will have no choice but to activate the traps. Don't forget to add a bomb or a spring in the furniture hiding the item if the room is absent of plier kits and/or blue bucket bins. 3. If you fined the airport exit in one of the rooms, just sit there and wait for the rival to put up through the dirty work finding all the supplies. Just before he reaches the door, set up the clock bomb and then wait for him to enter. Right when he enters, retreat into another room. As he looks for the suitcase he dropped, enter back in and exit out as quickly as you can, repeat this risk until the bomb detonates, killing you're rival, then quickly grab the suitcase in the room and exit the airport door (If the both of you get killed, you'll have to race against you're rival to the same room).
Blast From the Past!
by Ignition0001 · October 25, 2015
This game is an amazing port of the original Commodore 64 version of Spy Vs Spy. It's nice that you can play the retro version of the game, while still being able to play a more modern take of the classic game. And it's very easy to learn if you don't know how to play. The tutorial is very simplistic, yet complex enough to help you learn the roots in less that five minutes! If I were to complain about one thing, it would be that the multiplayer is a bust. It doesn't work at all. But that doesn't even compare to all the good things about this game. If you are new to Spy Vs Spy, this is a warm welcome to the SvS universe. If you're in love with the original Commodore 64 version, or even the NES or Gameboy version, than this will be a "Blast From the Past" and bring back lots of happy SvS memories from the past. This game is for anyone, and I KNOW you will live it! IGN gives this game a 10/10... I mean... uh... It is worth the two dollars. I think it is well worth more for how long you will be putting your time into this game. I am not associated with IGN. It was a joke. Get a sense of humor. ;D
