This TD game is great, but the difficulty ramps up after the 5th map making it a major grind-fest. If you want too, you can purchase rank ups at $.99 per rank (ouch!) to speed things up. It's not needed though. Just grind the maps and you will get there.<br/><br/>I would advise purchasing the 3 helpful items. You should at least purchase the &quot;The All Seeing Eye&quot; or the invisible creeps can run past your towers without taking damage! The Cursed Gem is nice to have also! <br/><br/>You must protect your gems in your cave and the Cursed Gem is an exploding decoy. It is always there buy your cave entrance at the beginning of a map, but only one use per map. <br/><br/>You can purchase these items separately, or there is a bundle to get all 3 helpful items for a very fair price and they do help you out a lot! You only purchase them once and they will always be there every time you replay a map.<br/><br/>It can get a bit frustrating at first, but if you grind levels over and over, you will rank up fast and get the points to upgrade your towers. Tip: The harder the map, the more experience points you get towards your next rank.<br/><br/>You get 3 tower upgrade points each time you rank up. With each upgrade, each map gets easier and easier to beat. You have 3 spells to use also. Tip: One of the spells increases your tower's firing rate up to 160%! *Upgrade that spell as soon as you can! Meteor rocks! (Pun intended! LOL) *These spell upgrades are part of the tower upgrades.<br/><br/>Once you start building up your towers and spells things get really fun! I never needed to purchase rank ups (IAP) but I did purchase the 3 items right away and I advise you do the same! But they're not needed to beat the game... I don't think. LOL You can beat the game in a couple of days or so, depending on the time you spend playing.<br/><br/>The sequel to this game is much bigger and better! I recommend both games to all TD junkies! <br/><br/>Both games can be played and beat without purchasing any IAP! Well, maybe, &quot;The All Seeing Eye&quot; might be required... LOL I bought it before playing any maps!<br/><br/>Update: I beat the game in two days. The only negative I can see is that there in no replay value after beating the game, as there is no Endless Mode!!! Dropping review to 4 Stars for the lack of Endless Mode. Come on guys, every great TD game HAS an Endless Mode!!!

Worthwhile TD game. Great graphics! I wish they would do a Part 2!

Fun game but it continues to crash after a level is complete. The crashing occurred after I purchased the in app upgrade. It could use some more levels.

Since I updated my iPad mini to iOS 7, this game crashes constantly. Please fix!

Update - The iOS crash bug has been fixed. Thanks, developers. This is a great tower defence game - very highly recommended. It is definitely one of my favourites (I have played a _lot_ in this genre), and better than most of the 'big name' ones.<br/><br/>Original Review - It is a great game, and would be highly recommended for tower defence fans if/when the iOS 7 crash issue is resolved. The game is well balanced, and is not dependent on iap's.

This is a &quot;top 5&quot; TD game in my book. Arguably the predecessor to the Kingdom Rush style of TD games. No in-app purchases necessary to win. And hours of awesome gameplay. Getting a &quot;brilliant&quot; rating on all levels isn't easy.<br/><br/>My only real gripe is that it's too short. I wish the developers would sell a level-pack with some expansion maps. And my 2nd gripe (which is minor) is that the chilling crypts are slightly overpowered and become a solution for too many maps.<br/><br/>Great game!
