Never worked from the beginning. Now it’s just an expensive paperweight. I would stay away from western digital all together. Anything that requires an app to run is horrible. Absolute piece of junk. Not happy.
I love my WD passport. This app was useful until they did an update and suddenly decide that my passport will not work with the app any more to try and get me to buy a new one. The only reason they need to do this is to sell more products. Now I know NOT to buy from WD as they do not support their products and just push you to buy new.
Thanks to the the update, WD has deemed my perfectly working product old and no longer supported. What a huge middle finger to all of those customers who purchased your product early on and helped get you to where you are. Instead we’re just left abandoned as WD urges us to buy their newer products. Sorry, you lost me.
What a great little portable hardware/storage/server/software. This app is just great!! Easy to use, very simple to move around in and connect too. There is lots of help and support from the community and technical support. I had to get it replaced one time because of a hardware issue but it was shipped in and replaced with in a week. The app I can access from anywhere in the world and hook in to my server and extract any files or documents or anything I store on it from anywhere I want, I have had this program and the hardware for over 5 years now and it has never let me down, not even once. Thank y’all for making this app/software and the sever/storage unit that goes along with it. Great job look forward to the next product release that can bring me and other people the same easy access and less headache then most of these technical logical devices were you need major, switchboard, and stuff just to set it up and have a server room is all did a great job with having compact portable that has a great software that goes with it…..
I wrote this review around 5 years after I first started using the app. For what this app + hard drive does for my workflow, RELIABLY is amazing and so handy to my workflow. I use the app with the most excellent WD 2TB My Passport Wireless Pro Portable External Hard Drive - WiFi. I shoot images w/my DSLR. Then. Take the SD card from camera put into the WD passport and it automatically transfers all the new files (not all, just new) to the HDD. Then, the hard drive is accessible on my network to view on iOS or on desktop. And all of this is totally wireless and internal battery powered. Amazing. The most important part and the reason it gets 5 stars: it works alll the time. Never flaky. Never hard to connect, or doesn’t transfer.
