Conan: Tower of the Elephant

It was fun until you get to the haystack challenge, which is a really boring sequence for an action game. It's impossible to do on an iPhone. Make better controls or delete that challenge.

Way too short. Bad items system. Bad combat system. Buy dungeon hunter or another hack and slash. This is coming from a Conan fan. I'm disappointed in chillingo for this one.

I am huge Conan fan so right off the bat I will say that for the most part this game does justice to Hyborian lore penned by REH. Dark Horse comic pages only enhance that. Apart for that this game is just bad. Poor graphics. Useless combo moves (just mash one button to win). Very short. Poor endgame (90% of the game takes place outside the tower). Get this game only if you are die hard Conan fan if not then SKIP this one.

I have been taken back 10 years. Where adventure games where challenging and you had to figure things out on your own. I agree there could be a bit more polish on the controls but the point is not to be showing fireworks and special effects but rather focus on an awesome interactive world, and story. This is perfect for the Conan fans and generation who appreciates some real gaming challenges!

I love the Conan series and I was really happy to see a Conan game on the iOS. Problem is that while enjoying the app either on my iPad1 or iPad2 it constantly shuts down when accessing the menu or loading a new area. I hope this gets fixed so I can finally enjoy this game.

Conan: Tower of the Elephant (CTOE) sports solid gameplay. The controls are easy. The story moves along briskly, and is easy to follow. You don't have to juggle stats or manage branching, ability trees. There are many different enemy types, ranging from guards, to wraiths, to giant spiders and more. The graphics, while not jaw dropping, get the job done. The music matches up to the character. However, the game is rather short--falling around 2-3 hours in length. Accessing the map is a chore. After beating the game and unlocking all the treasure chests, there are still empty spots on the inventory screen. Lastly, if you don't have at least an iPhone 4, CTOE isn't going to work that well. Its not cool how Chillingo has marginalized so many by ignoring the older platforms. Sadly, it is what it is. If you've an iPhone 4 or better and are looking for a fun, fantasy romp, this game is for you. However, if you've only a 3G, 3GS or second gen iPod, you may just be throwing away your money.

I like this game. I believe I encountered a glitch. I have to meet with a Bel Priest, then go to the tavern to save a friend of the priest. I saved the friend and returned to the priest with the letter and he tells me that the friend is still in danger.

As a Conan fan, I love the idea of taking a single Conan story and turning it into a game. What's next? Red Nails? Just speaking for myself, I want more!
