The ads thooo

by Jackerzz · November 10, 2023

The app used to be great. I could watch my shows in the Picture in Picture mode and I could still do what I was doing before hand. Ever since the update, when an ad comes up, it will pause and I have to stop what I am doing to open it to full screen and then wait for 8 minutes while the ads play, then I can go back to what I was doing when the show comes back on. It is unpractical now. I’m so far behind on my shows because I don’t have time for all the ads. I don’t mind watching ads, I get that’s how they make their money. But to make it to where I have to watch the ads in full screen…. You have lost me as a customer.

Seriously! Theres more ads than the actual shows. Please cut down on the amount of ads shown. Its a waste.

Too many ads

by Bucktown1980 · November 5, 2023

It’s painful to have to sit through so many ads just to watch a show. MTV definitely has the most ads out of all the streaming apps out there. You have to sit through 3 mins of ads for every 5 mins of content you watch.

No more ads!!

I get it.. you need to show the ads… but it’s getting a bit much. I started the show and watched 2 mins 30 secs of ads, then the short recap, another 2 mins and 30 secs of ads then the show intro then ANOTHER 2 mins 30 secs of ads. I haven’t even watched a single second of the episode and I’ve already watched 7 1/2 mins totaling 18 different ads. Boy is this frusterating. 😡

SOOO MANY ADS!

by dlm_nc · December 3, 2023

There are so many flipping ads! If you go forward or back bc you missed something or need to rewatch a part of your show it’s going to show another (extra set) 6-8 ads. 11 ad breaks in the 1 hour show I’m currently watching! 6-8 ads per ad break. 2-3 minutes of ads per break. That’s 20-30 minutes of ads per 1 hour show. Even more if you need to back up or move forward. So I needed up watching almost 35 minutes of ads. It’s absolutely ridiculous!!!!! Makes me not want to watch anything on MTV. When the ads play I usually use that time as a potty or snack break, use my phone (scroll insta). So IM NOT PAYING ANY ATTENTION TO THESE ADS! Useless, pointless, annoying, excessive, irritating….

Without a doubt the worst streaming App

by AnthonyG8 · November 12, 2023

With terrible buffering, repetitive ads, and a 40 minute ad load per hour there are almost no redeeming qualities about the MTV app. Trying to cast to another device makes things unwatchable with the stream breaking any time ads need to load.
