WI Guitar™

Got this based on the reviews and am a bit disappointed. If you are just going to use it to play its probably fine. If you want to use it to make music not so much.<br/><br/>The sounds for the most part are not pro grade. Too much reverb and or chorus and no way to modify the settings. If you listen to through high end gear or good pro headphones it is glaringly obvious and makes you want to stop playing.<br/><br/>Playing it is a little funky also they way the transitions happen and the volume is handled. Garage band is much better for sound quality and it's much easier to play the notes. <br/><br/>On this app one hand is always stuck touching a chord box to the left. Very unfriendly. Why not just be able to tap and sustain each chord until you want to transition???<br/><br/>Not really sure why this app has such raving reviews. Disappointed.

Talk about breathing some life back into my DAW. I'm not a guitar player. Just tired of the f-ing piano roll.

This is truly a great and expressive group of guitars. but where is lacking is that it does not have the ability to save your own chord sets so that you could program a song per say and save just the chords that go with that song also it would be great to have more chords then just the basic splits and 13s and 11s would be nice. sorta like garageband does you can program the chords you wanna play in the guitar however garage bands's guitar is not as expressive and it can sound really mechanical when strumming. also the addition of some effects would be nice. a metronome and the ability to record would be greatly appreciated and last but not least Audiobus and this would be a perfect guitar app<br/> till then I gotta just give it 3 stars -- add everything mentioned above and for sure 5 stars

Honestly this app wins hands down in its guitar dynamics department...which is very impressive. That being said..that is it. No audiobus or iaa support. By itself i really dont have a use for it. Honestly if i was at a campfire id just use the real thing. To me the idea of an ap and ios portability is the ability to act upon an inspiration and with no way to record inside the app and no way to connect it to audiobus or aum or any other ios daw there really is no other use. Please, you win in the creative department now put that to good use and add some practical functions and you guys will make a million bucks

As a guitarist who is always annoyed by computers trying to emulate guitar sounds, I will say this did a pretty good job with the acoustic guitars. In my opinion, the electric guitars all sound horrible but the acoustic guitars are enough to make up for it. It's all chordal from what I can tell so if you're wanting to do a solo you can probably forget it unless your solo is all arpeggios. I play some classical guitar so it is decent for working out finger picking patterns so that's a big plus for me on this app. <br/>I'd give it 3 1/2 stars but they don't do half stars so i'll just bump it up to 4. For the price, I'd say it's a good buy. I've heard much more expensive programs that don't even come close. Electric guitars sound terrible on this though haha so just be aware of that.
