Great app!

by Mew1956 · April 15, 2025

I have been using this app for years. The older I get, the more I appreciate it.

Great.

14 years later and this app is still working. Amazing.

Great App!

Wish the developer was still updating, but this is *still* a great app after all these years. I love that I can use pictures of my actual medication if I want (instead of just having generic graphic representations). And I love the choice of reminder sounds that are so vastly different from my regular iPad sounds that when I hear it, I know immediately it’s for my medication instead of some other reminder. If anyone ever came back to work on this, I’d love to see an “archive” section where I can save old medicines I don’t take anymore (so if my doctor asks if I’ve ever taken xyz med, I can look in the archive and see or even tell him I took it and had some kind of reaction to it in the past as a reason that I stopped). It would also be cool to have some kind of backup/restore (even if it’s to my own personal storage space) in case I want to buy a new iPad at some point so I can still have all my data history. But anyway, thanks for such a great app!

Add these features!

There needs to be some sort of way to do PRN (as needed meds). Also, there is no way to insert transdermal and suppository medications. Please add these! Until you do I can't use this app! I was looking for a way to organize my meds, looks like I will have to keep looking!

Still the Best Medicine reminder out🩵💊

by iKaff · July 9, 2023

I’ve been using this app for over 7 years. Pillboxie is easy to use to remember my medication. Other medicine reminders are complicated and not as customizable and visibly appealing. That’s one of my favorite features. The photos I use. Also Scheduling a reminder is easy by just dropping a pill into a pillbox. I also love that you don’t have to have Wi-Fi connection to use it. Always reminds me of schedule even when the phone is on sleep mode. Just a great app to have.😃

Repeat alarm setup needs work

by MellyEV · December 28, 2022

I really need something in between "alarm that goes off once a minute (even though I can snooze)" and "no repeat alarm at all." Since my medication is to treat anxiety there was no middle ground between screaming at the once per minute feature and just flat out forgetting when I turned it off. If you're wondering, "how can that stress someone out so much," I bet you've never needed anxiety medication! Anyway, this app would be totally perfect for me if that was an adjustable feature (like every 10 minutes! 20!). Alarm-alarm-alarm-then-snooze is so irritating for me, and the alternative being no repeating at all renders it totally ineffective for me.

This app needs an update, does not let you add meds or edit.

Use Pillboxie for Physical Therapy Too

by lewis3000us · March 7, 2022

I really like Pillboxie. Currently I’m recovering from knee surgery and it helps me to stay on schedule with my meds.

Also, I’m using it for my physical therapy tracking. Currently I have 5 “meds” that are actually PT activities:
1X/Day
2X/Day
4X/Day
9X/Day
Ice (happens to be also 9X/Day)

Key point is the scheduling, just like for medications.
