8 of 25I like this app but it would be nice if they would occasionally put some new recipes in. The recipes in it are great but I don’t think it has been updated in a while
Nothing like buying a cookbook (I bought both this one and the veg one) only for them to completely stop working with future IOS updates. Neither app will even open now. I equate this to theft. If they aren’t going to maintain the app then they should give you the ebook versions for free.
The content in the app is top-notch. Mark Bittman is a gem.

Sadly, the developer hasn’t been keeping up with the latest in iOS. The app is in desperate need of an update. At the very least they could update it for the iPhone X.
I loved the cookbook and love this app for the same reasons. But now that I’ve moved overseas, I see that it converts to metric automatically. What a pleasant surprise!
It’s been over a year since the last update and it looks just dreadful on modern Apple devices. Many bugs persist. The content is fantastic, but what a sad example of abandonware as the app gets uglier and uglier and more and more broken with each hardware and iOS update.
Many good recipes that are easy to use, but the indexing is bad. Alphabetical lists are not in keyword order.
I’ve been using this app since I had it on the iTouch. It’s a great reference and a reliable source of solid recipes.
The app doesn’t work on IOS 14.5 but I’m still getting notifications!! I use it almost daily. My goto guide in the kitchen. I really like how Mark makes tricky recipes simple and I'm expanding my meal base all the time.
