Some Reviews:
*Excellent step by step approach by Jurassienne_Dole Lots of examples of the basic moves and tactics and some amusing side games involving dinosaurs. Fun for kids and adults alike and plenty of challenges at all levels.
*Dinosaur Chess by Mls968 This is a great program. The lessons are interesting, and play levels go from easy to difficult. My 4 and 6 year olds are learning the game, and it's helping novice players like my wife and I too. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to introduce their children to chess!
*An excellent app by Adg6 A wonderful app. Ideal for anyone new to chess. It is even fun for experienced chess players.
*Highly Recommended - by doled "This is a fantastic chess teaching game. This game alone makes it worth buying an iPad. My three year old now knows the piece names and basic moves. My six year old is well on her way to playing a full game. Our family has had an iPad since the day the iPad was released and this is one of the best apps we have."
*Great! - by TonySchleizer "This game has gotten my 5 year old interested in chess. Great tutorials that get progressively harder as skills improve."
* Great for getting started - by Milfordthelargebonedgorilla "This has been fantastic for my five year old son...using this in addition to a real board and pieces has helped him immensely in understanding each of the pieces, how they move, their strengths and weaknesses...a terrific way to introduce young ones to the game without overwhelming them"
* Great learning tool - by Triplescoop "I have an adopted 7 year old boy with fetal alcohol syndrome. It is very hard for him to learn to play games. Checkers was very hard for him to learn. I thought that chess would be something that he would have to wait to learn. I bought this app even though there were no reviews. So glad I did! What a great teaching tool! I love the mini games that teach the directions that each piece can move. We play slowly but my son can play chess! I recommend this for anyone who wants to learn the basics of the game. This app is for beginners. Great for kids! Thank you to the developers of this app!"
*Super! - by Chess player "Hats off to the developers. A fun program for kids."
*Ideal For kids - by Kingkot "This game is ideal to teach the kids in the chess."

8 of 25It looks like a fun app and a good lesson plan to learn how to play chess. The audio is not working on my iPhone that is why I have to give it this rating.
I always wanted to play chess when I was younger, but thanks to this app I learned to play it! I teaches you very well and I love it! I totally recommend this app.
It’s been more than 10 years and still issues with the audio !! Wow.. tried all their recommendations to fix the audio but no luck.. the last step says email the developer.. who is the developer.. it would be nice if an email id is also mentioned. Would rate negative stars.. but that’s not an option !!
Trying to teach myself to play. It's a great concept but there are glitches; occasionally a piece disappears for no reason and I just ran into one situation that changed a pawn into a knight randomly. For the developers, I've experienced these issues in the level 3 play. Not sure if it continues in other levels.
I bought it for my daughter. She's already got some of the basics downbeat ore this app. This will move her forward, but the app crashes after each Chess Game. No apps paused in background. Reboot does not help either. Does not record the win, loss, or draw. --iPad 4 on iOS 7
As a kid I always wanted to learn chess and no one would teach me. When I had kids I decided I would make sure my kids would learn. I got the app hoping it could make it fun for them to learn, and found it made it fun for me as well. The games, when learning how to move the pieces, reinforce the material, and aids the learning process. Multiple levels of games help to build confidence to play a "real" game. My son 7 now loves chess and belongs to a club, and we play a game nightly. Thanks for teaching me later in life and giving my son and I new activity to bond over.
The sound doesn’t work in iPhone This is a rip off
I am very disappointed that the audio on the app has not been fixed. When I bought I read reviews from April mentioning audio problems. I foolishly assumed they would be fixed. Six months later the audio is still not working- at least for the iPad. It is a shame because otherwise this would be a good app for young kids interested in chess. Unless your child is a very proficient reader, this is not the app for you. Even then the explanations require a functioning audio in order to be understood. Sadly, I recommend avoiding this app until the audio is fixed.
