ReBirth for iPad

What I can make sense of works great. No in-app documentation and support links do not lead to a clear location of documentation. This leaves me guessing and trial/erroring my way through certain features. Maybe if you were a user of the original PC app from 20 years ago, it would all be very clear.

Looks terrible. Is this app updated??

This seems to be nothing more than a port of the PC version, with a few iOS audio specific enhancements. When I launch this app I feel like I'm back in 1999 using Windows 95. There are no Retina graphics and this app has not been truly rewritten to harness the power and usability of the iPad touch interface. This would have been cool 10 years ago. Now? Not so much. Korg's new Gadget app is much better.

The interface is the only negative on this app. I own Gadget, Electribe, Cubasis and Caustic and this is by far my favorite production app. Probably cause I'm an old school house and techno purveyor, this is perfect for acid house and hard Detroit techno. At first I declined the mods it offers but that was a mistake. You can get some really nice modern sounding techno with the mod section. I ignore the poor interface since I know this is how the original rebirth looked 15 years ago and it does support multi touch so that is nice. All in all I may not get the full on dynamic production I get with Gadget or even the sound set, but I do get the classic roland house and techno sound hat I crave and love.

Not a bad sounding app. Can be fun-not. It crashes and glitches. A don't buy.

It does what it says, you want to jam and create your own beats here it is.. Now if they would make reason for iPad would be unbelievable. Still me favorite.

I love having 2 303s, an 808, and a 909 that are simple to program and sound real all on my iPad. The problem is, I can NOT find a manual for this app. The features list is vague and I can't tell if there are features from the original present or missing. Mainly I have trouble understanding to what extent I can use midi with this.<br/><br/>I would love to trigger different patterns from my DAW with simple midi note messages. Is this even possible? I don't know!<br/><br/>It's great but all too &quot;self contained.&quot; Having to program an entire tracks drums and acid lines on their own, and then audio copy them out one by one takes wayyyyyy too much time and removes me from the musical side of the experience.
