8 of 25This app is incredibly intricate. The developers have thought about just about everything. I am amazed.
Would like to see an update that allows for more photos to be taken while the previous ones are processing, sorta like Hipstamatic "buffer" system. Having to wait 10 seconds in betwen shots is very limiting and has forced this app to be less used than I would like. ----- Great app that rivals the more popular Hipstamatic in both filter quality and features. Huge selection of lo-fi filters reminiscent of vintage toy cameras and TTV shots. Supports optional light leaks, film grain. Love the ability to mix and match frames with filters for endless variety. Supports full resolution = YES! Best feature is the ability to post-process filters from your camera roll or in the app after you have taken a photo. Use the lightbox to switch frames and filters so if the original shot doesn't work you can always edit it to fit. Responsive developer= A+
One of my first photo apps but really needs an update. Too complicated to use regularly.
Amazing--one of the few 5-Stars I give/will give. As some reviewers have noted, comparisons with Hipstamatic are inevitable. The difference? While both aim (and achieve) analog-sim excellence, their methods, mojo, and flows vary. Cameramatic is a "post-shutter" app more akin to Photoshop. You can layer (multiple!) adj's/fx/frames/etc, to the degree you wish. I'm a 20-year Pshop veteran, so that's a double-edged sword. Sometimes I want/need that level of control, which is when I use Cameramatic. Sometimes I get sick of my controlling fiddliness, and Hipstamatic is there--it's like a great meal that someone makes for you yet is surprisingly unexpected and delicious. I highly recommend Cameramatic for serious photographers/iphoneographers--the process and results are fun and remarkable. Also: hooray for the Developer--a big cigar for you!
Don't give an app a one star rating because you don't know how to operate it. You CAN upload from camera roll then edit. If u can't figure it out, ask the dev, or google it. Don't sabotage a good app!! This app is constantly updating and giving free filters since the day they put it out. I bought it on the very first day and haven't been disappointed. Please keep updates coming for your loyal users!
Nothing to complain about!
This is a great and very flexible app from a developer whose other apps, too, are worth checking out. They all "just work." I'm not sure the best way to judge Cameramatic is by comparing it to Hipstamatic (though the comparison is seemingly irresistible, and even the app names seem to invite it). I'd say these are two very different approaches to a similar goal: creating square-format digital images with the warmth and charm and quirkiness of old-fashioned analog film cameras. I don't think it's easy to say that one approach is BETTER than the other, though I would say two things in Cameramatic's favor: 1. Cameramatic images aren't so easy to glance at and say, for example, "Oh, yeah, another picture taken with the John S lens and Ina's 69 film." They tend to be more subtle and less "canned." 2. Cameramatic seems to be a solidly engineered product that is not afflicted by the various bugs and quirks and strange behaviors that have frustrated Hipstas for the past several months. There's still a learning curve or a comfort curve involved in mastering the app, but you can feel assured that everything is working the way it's supposed to. I really should use this thing more.
You shouldn't have to google or ask the developer how to do a basic function. If the app has a bug or is not working properly I have every right to report it. The only reason I would do so is because I want a product I use and paid for to work. User reviews is not the place for condescending comments to others.
