Bluetooth?

by Film less Soundtracks · October 5, 2022

Not finding my Bose Bluetooth Headphones, which comes on automatically on all my other top of the line synth apps. What am I missing to correct this?

Incredibly full featured synth with lots of parameters, effects, features. Got Audiobus support, full recording ability and more. Awesome sounds.

Recording won't stop!!!

by uhdum · January 12, 2013

Why does it leave a task bar at the top of my iPad screen that says it's recording every time I open the program. I can't get rid of this unless I turn the iPad completely off. Very aggravating!!!

Uninspiring presets

Presets are poorly named and uninspiring. Could be better. It's been ages and the interface hasn't gotten any love from the developers.

Power, refinement

by David Wilson-Okamura · July 25, 2012

NLog was one of the first synth apps for iOS, and is still one of the best. The programmer has a deep understanding of sound and sound algorithms, and he has continued to refine his apps with more features and more efficiency. For example, there are lots of music apps that can upload recordings TO SoundCloud, but how many are there that can download a recording FROM SoundCloud and either play it in the background or copy it to the clipboard? You can complain about the way patches are organized (by author instead of type), but not about the actual sound. Another feature that serious musicians will appreciate: NLog knows that it's not the only music app on your iPod or iPad, so it works smoothly with other instruments and controllers (such as Geo, Cantor, SoundPrism, ThumbJam, Little MIDI Machine, or Genome MIDI Sequencer).

The new MIDI Learn feature is marvelous. In five minutes, I mapped nine knobs and nine sliders on a Korg nanoKontrol that I purchased on eBay for about US$30 and plugged into a Camera Connection Kit (CCK). Makes it very easy to experiment with fine adjustments to filter cutoff, resonance, LFO frequency, envelope, glide -- whatever you want to play with.
