An Excellent tool to assist in observing the night sky!

by Garlicbeth · August 11, 2018

I have been using the standard RedShift program for several years and find it very useful for searching and obtaining info on most objects in the night sky. Having a search and display tool that also offers precise positioning is really useful. The follow the sky mode and auto identification of all objects on the screen is a great tool!
Happy in CA

Easy to use & understand. Great for an amateur astronomer like me. My 8 year-old grandson loves to use it.

Jupiter rotation seems off

by Oldtime radio listener · August 20, 2019

Can you please provide feedback on an issue I seem to have found?

When comparing Jupiter with other astronomy apps, the rotation of Jupiter seems to be about 3 hours off. Basically looking at the great red spot at a certain time of day it is off from other astronomy apps I have. I have verified my time zone is set correctly.

Any feed back is appreciated.

Redshift is the most fascinating app of it's type. I particularly like "tracking" the ISS in real time. Awesome. Like having the whole universe, in 3D, in your hand.
