weCal II uses the Apple iPhone Calendar data and integration options. With weCal II, appointments from the calendars in the Calendar App can be shown and edited.

Advantages of weCal II over weCal are: - all integration options of the iPhone / iPod Touch Calendar can be used - no subscription necessary to import- and export data (no need to use the weCal server)

You might still prefer weCal over weCal II if: - you are not on iOS 4 or better - you like the way the weCal server always keeps a backup of your calendar data over-the-air - you like the invitation infrastructure of weCal

Calendar integration includes support for: - Microsoft Exchange - MobileMe - Google - Yahoo - CalDAV - ICS calendar subscription

Unique features of weCal II are:

- use a swipe gesture on any day in the month view to change to the previous or next month - switch between am / pm colors or calendar colors in the 24 hour dials in the month view - select sunday or monday to show as the first day of the week in the month view - the default week number scheme can be switched to ISO 8601 - jump to any date directly using the month label / button at the center top of the month view - shake your iDevice to select the current date in the month view - rotate the month view to landscape to get a week overview - show the previous or next week with a swipe gesture in the week view - collapse the month view to get a graphical day view - show the previous or next day with a swipe gesture in the day view - use the Today button to jump to the current date and toggle the collapsed state of the month / day view - double tap in the day view to create an appointment - workday hours are highlighted in the day view - the start and end of a workday can be selected - display appointments in a list of all entries in the last, previous and next month - filter appointments in the list to match search criteria - all appointment details can be edited in a single view - numerous repeat and alarm options - calendar entry details can be edited in portrait or landscape, featuring the bigger keyboard - phone numbers, urls and email addresses in the notes field can be tapped and used - selected contacts can be invited even without MobileMe or Exchange - contact details of attendees can be used to directly send text/email messages or make a call - ICS files can be imported from Mail or Safari to create a new appointment or update the invitation status - choose one of 10 themes to customize how your calendar looks

***** weCal II Lite features iAds and has all features of weCal II except for invitations / attendee support. *****

Great App! Please fix!!!

by BStowers · October 19, 2011

I use this app for all my calendars both work and personal. It is great! Better than most of the other calendar apps. It has worked great, the.only thing is that it crashes when you try to add a new calendar. Please fix.

Great Calendar app for Zimbra / Exchange ..or not

by [} John {] · July 21, 2011

WeCal II was one of my first purchases and I've bought other calendar apps that looked interesting but always go back to WeCal II to review and input my shedules. Sure, I have become used to it, but the operation of this app just seems to be right on the money. Very easy to check past and future events and glance over the week, etc. The only missing display that would be nice is a 12 month overview calendar for broad reference.

Awesome looking calendar app!!

Looks great, works great..........................and if you can figure out how to make it share calendar events through sms/mms, I'll buy the app all over again!!

iOS 5 upgrade issues

by Khmallman · November 10, 2011

This worked well until I upgraded to iOS 5 then it started to crash when including invites to a meeting. I tried saving w/o invite and then invite afterwards with no success. I have to invite thru the Apple calendar app. Also, when first opening it doesn't display any of my monthly daily agenda items. No dots on the days I have things schedules for unless I flip to the next month and then back for this information to update to current status. Loved it before fix these issues for me and I'll give ya 5 stars again. Currently I have to use the iPhone default calendar because this is too irritating.

Love/hate

I love the option of color coding your different activities, helps keep my schedule straight rather than just showing a dot and having to select the day to see the different events/times. I like the option of change themes, wish there were more options for different seasons/months. The winter themes are the only variation from the generic simple versions. Spring/Summer/Autumn are all neglected. I don't like that the app doesn't sync with my new computer/calendar. It worked with my old MacBook but not the MacBook Pro. Also there seems to be a glitch with the last day of the month, it won't show events you've added. Overall I like the app and use it frequently. I don't use the stock calendar on my phone at all

Nice but flawed

I really like this up but would like it much more if it didn't crash when activating colors in the calendar. Please fix then I'd give 5 stars.

Not worth it!!!!

Seems like the same calendar as the one that comes with the iPhone! I bought this because of the calendar invites. But when I send a calendar invite to my wife's blackberry, the blackberry can't read the .ics file? The lag time is horrendous! I find myself tapping three times before I realized that it's just really laggy.

Developers very responsive

by RandomString · October 10, 2010

(iPhone 4, iOS 4.1) *** UPDATE*** Developers very quickly sent me a beta which addressed problems I was having. Remaining issue is lack of invite handling. App sends invites, but it appears that incoming invites are only supported for subscription service, which is not available for we-cal II. *** UPDATE 2 *** We-cal II does support .ics invitation attachments received through mail or other downloads. Apple Calendar does not (4.1). If you receive an ics file, tap and hold down on it until a "Open with We-cal II" button appears. Tap on it, and We-cal will publish it to your default calendar. (If I just tap on the attachment, it goes to Apple's app and nothing happens.) What We-cal II does not do is show you a list or counter of new, unanswered invites. It leaves alerting on new invites to the stock Apple Calendar (which is OK since you can't delete it anyway.) Nor does it allow you to change your attendence (decline, maybe, yes). You'll have to weigh that against the nicer UI, and ics working correctly. *** (Issues I was having im 2.0 are below) *** Bugs mostly in editing events: - When I added first event, couldn't see text for title and location in edit bix until changed from default theme. - It's got into a state where the edit pane is stuck half-way down the page; can't see fields at the top. - A Google event, entered with default app, was showing up as "Invite--can only change (some particular field)". Stopped doing that when stuck-page problem started. - Won't delete Google calendar event. Pressing "Delete Event" asks for confirmation, network activity icon spins for a bit, and then nothing. - Just tried adding another event. Invisible text problem is back. Event pane now stuck even further down page.
