8 of 25You know, I like this alarm, but 99% of the time when I try to set the sound volume it crashes. That's why I quit using it months ago. Thought I'd give it another try hoping they fixed it, but no. It doesn't appear that the developer is staying on top of the development of this app. My recommendation is to try it out thoroughly before making any in app purchases. There are other alarms with most of the same features that don't crash.
Since the most recent update to the iOS firmware, when one of my alarms sounds, it continues to sound after I dismiss the alarm. The only way to stop the alarm is to open up the music app (if you had your alarm set to play a song from you library) and hit play and then hit pause. This is very annoying and inconvenient. I don’t know if this is a problem the app makers can do anything about or if it’s Apple. Hopefully a fix can be found.
I updated my review. Thanks for the quick fix! Nice clock, lots of features, many customization options. The only reason I gave 4 stars as opposed to 5 is because the app is sluggish here and there. For example, in the settings, changing the background color takes 5 seconds!!! Swiping the main screen, when I reach the last carousel display (in all three rows) there's a noticable delay to swap in the last "pages". Othervthn these, it great. (iPad 3; iOS 5.1)
App crashes every time you adjust alarm volume slider.
I have been using this app for almost 3 years without any problems other than occasional crashing, which is a very rare occurrence. As time goes on, this app just keeps getting better and more versatile. Touch LCD has all the functions I need in a clock app, and with any combination of five display colors, two LCD styles, and a light- and dark-oriented version for each color/style combination, Touch LCD is very pleasing to the eye of a technology aficionado like myself. The voices are not harsh like on other clock apps; quite the contrary. Touch LCD's preloaded voices are very easy to listen to, and the alarm tones are what you would expect from some of the early LCD clocks and digital watches, adding to the authenticity of the wonderfully designed, retro-inspired app. Mr. Clarke, you've taken an ubiquitous clock style, given it a voice, and executed the combination exceedingly well on the iOS platform. I proudly take my hat off to you. I seriously would give 10 stars if the rating scale had a maximum of 10.
Maybe I've been lucky, I have not experienced any of the issues that I have read herein...none whatsoever. I do like the fact that you have the different lighting options, also I can wake to one of the alarms, or to music...sweet. I can really find no fault with this app at all. I have had this app for...probably 8 or 9 months now and have not experienced any glitches, that said, one should carefully pay attention to what one is doing when in setup mode. Once you have safely made all your corrections, then you should be alright. I know I had some really funky sounds and the time was off when I first started mucking about in the settings.
The app itself is great; however, I have found that if you keep it running in the background (ie not double click he button and kill it), it will destroy your battery life! Would like to see a fix for this!
3D is so last operating system.
