Other trippy particle toys might claim to be the best, the fastest, or the most advanced... but they just don't compare! The variety of designs you can create is breathtaking.
PixelSwarm has four swarms of three types that all behave in different ways, so you can experiment with touches, gestures, and settings to create all sorts of crazy visuals. Tap it, stroke it, press and hold multiple fingertips... Find stable orbits, create washes of color, toss dots from finger to finger and play catch... You'll have to play and explore to find out everything it can do.

Once I openned the app, it started flowing with color particles, but that's it. The developer says there are TONS of new settings, but forgot to mention in the app's description how the user can get to them. I've tried all kinds of gestures to see if one of them will stop the swarming and opens the settings window, but instead it keeps creating more visual effects. The app's name doesn't even appear in the phone's settings. One poster said he knows how to get to the settings, but didn't elaborate. I don't know why the developer didn't include instructions on how to get to the settings. In addition I tried to reach the developer's site through iTunes, Google search, etc., and it doesn't even exist. I gave it one star, but it really deserves zero star.
Nicely done! This app let's you create some amazing visuals or just play around with the physical motion of the particles. Between the touch input and the huge variety of settings, the possibilities really do seem infinite. I had this on my phone, then immediately got it on my iPad. It just looks awesome. Some method to take screenshots might be nice, as my fingers are too tied up to reach the home and power buttons. And, yes. As soon as you launch the app, it says at the top of the screen to "(((shake for settings)))". Unfortunately some folks like to give bad ratings/reviews because they don't read the instructions. I highly recommend getting this app.
Very nice. My daughter loves it but isn't very patient with small changes. Is there, or can we get, a randomizer to automatically create new settings? I would say, only randomize the sections which are on...
This new version is horrible!
I loved the app totally worth the 99 cents u should buy it
Finally some presets and a MUCH needed swarm save feature for all those settings I've spent hours tweaking!! Thanks for another fun update!
LOL lot's of settings but everything basically looks the same still. Still really an iPhone app since it still, after all this time, only supports portrait mode. Deleting again. Tired of waiting.
