This game brings me back to when I was a kid. It's a decent game for 99 cents. I like the Japanese sound effects, but would like the option to have the original "ow" when you hit the crocs and "now I'm angry" that precedes the second part of the stage. Add those things and maybe some more challenges and achievements and it'll bump my rating up to 4 stars.
I used to love this in the arcades!! But then again I was like 5 years old.. Still a great resurrection! Please add more modes and bonuses like power ups and hammers, maybe even more gators! Namco! Please!
Like most people writing reviews, I found this greatly nostalgic! Bought this purely for the good memories, however in light of that I was very disappointed to see that the original croc sounds were not present, just some random Japanese boy sound clips. If the original "ow" and "now I'm angry" sounds could be placed in then I would have no problems with this app! Thanks! Edit: Please allot for the high score to go past 99! It would make it better for competition against friends!
I remember when I was a kid in Japan and I went to the SEGA arcade house. Right when I enter the door I turn to my right and there's GATOR PANIC (もぐりたたき-as said in Japanese). I also remember those noises saying "いて-ow". My mom helped me bash those gators, and I always remember at the end looking at the high score. This is my favorite arcade game, and possibly my favorite game of all time. This brings back all my Japan memories. I thank Namco so much into making this game. If you have played this game before... THIS IS FOR YOU!!! Trust me. You won't regret it. It doesn't have that much modes, but this will bring back the memories if you have played this classic, fun, and addictive game. All I'm saying is MEMORIES.
I agree with PickNSpade, but I like this just fine. I'm giving it a four since there's really much to this game compared to Angry Birds and Cut the Rope. Still, this is a good purchase for a buck and I recommend it to people who have actually played the game at the arcade as kids.
