Report an issueShredder, the most successful chess program ever, is also available for the iPad. You can play against Shredder, analyze with him and solve chess puzzles. It offers the usual Shredder standard on your iPad.
In addition to the outstanding playing strength of the 12 times computer chess world champion, Shredder is also able to mimic the play of a human chess player with any playing strength. He even deliberately makes typical human mistakes in those levels.
Solve 1000 built in chess puzzles. Shredder keeps track of your performance and offers advice if needed.
You can adjust Shredder’s playing strength from beginner to master level. If you like, Shredder automatically adjusts his strength to yours. He even calculates an Elo rating for you. This is how the playing strength of chess players is typically measured.
During the game a coach is watching your moves and warns you if you are about to make a mistake.
See how you are getting better and better the more games you play and the more chess puzzles you solve.

8 of 25The engine plays at lower levels a "human" style in that mistakes are of the sort a class level player would make. The puzzles are excellent for honing your tactical skills.
puzzles excellent for honing tactical skills!
This App really needs no introduction! I play the puzzles daily and have been a fan of Shredder since 2008! Great training aid for anyone interested in the game.
.i dont think you last move was good keeps popping up even if my next move is a checkmate.
Shredder is a one of the best chess apps. However pieces are blurry and difficult to see on iPad, especially against all of the dark boards. The shadow renderings on the pieces add to the blur effect and confuse the eye enough to be distracting. Please update graphics and add more light- colored boards. Otherwise great app!
Great app that has been updated to restore functionality in iOS 10. Probably the best all-around chess app in the iOS world. Solid and proven engine, reasonable features (though a few things like the ability to save info to iCloud or Dropbox would be helpful), and with the most recent update, it runs pretty fast again.
I have owned Shredder on my pc for many years. I’ve even won a few games. The iPad version is the best I’ve come across on that platform. Not quite as many features as the pc version, but excellent and quite well conceived.
nothing else to say!
