Made for iPad! And works beautifully on the iPod Touch and iPhone devices too.

The "interactive" part comes in the form of games, activities, hidden Easter eggs, and the like. Gorgeous artwork, read-along text, and a reasonable price tag...What's not to like? -CNET Reviews

The classic "Jack and the Beanstalk" gets a terrific iPad makeover. -CNET Reviews

I was really impressed with Jack and the Beanstalk Children’s Interactive Storybook. It takes full advantage of the iPad’s size and looks great. The addition of the hidden activities within the story make it a fun app that my son really enjoyed -The iPhone Mom

Experience Jack and the Beanstalk like never before in this wonderfully illustrated storybook, featuring over 30 pages of interactivity which your child will enjoy. This timeless tale comes alive with audio narration, read-along text, and interactive games and features. Each page contains a hidden surprise! Come and dive into the pages of Jack and the Beanstalk and join Jack in his adventure to defeat the giant!

SPOILER WARNING - Don't read this next section if you want to discover all the great surprises in this app on your own!

All 32 pages are interactive, but here are some highlights you won't want to miss.

Page 1 Tilt the application to watch the sun move. Move the sun with your finger below the mountains and observe day turn to night. Touch the house to watch and hear the chimney puff.

Page 6 Touch the beans to play the memory matching game.

Page 13 Magically finger-paint the black -and-white page. When most of the image has been painted, stars will burst with enchanting sounds, and reveal an amazingly vivid image. When the page is in color, touch the lake to play a popup game. Shake the device to either finish the painting or to restart painting again.

Page 14 Touch Jack to get him to sing. It may take a few times...he's shy!

Page 29 The Giant is high on the beanstalk. Tilt the device and watch the Giant sway. The Giant will complain when you shake the device - he's afraid of heights.

My 3 1/2 yo grandson squealed with delight at the surprise that repeatedly popped up on each page. I had to read it again and again 3 times in succession and he wanted more! Very interactive

Great Storybook with Interactions!!

This is a great audio storybook with wonderful interactions for a child. The graphics are fantastic!! I hope to find more apps like this for my little girl!

Simplistic

by Mkr1000 · December 19, 2011

Compared to other ipad books available, this is simplistic. Yes, there are lots of pages but do they do anything? Sounds are assigned to animals and things. Touch them, you get a sound recording. Yippee. A few pages have shape-matching exercises or light coloring. Yippee. Graphics are dull. I hate to say it but this is soooo 2009. I expect a lot more from an iPad book in 2011!

Jack and the Beanstalk is worth every bit of praise!

by Dugaboo · September 27, 2011

I have read lots of rave reviews about Jack and the Beanstalk. I too feel that the artistry, sound effects, and voiceovers are terrific. The storyline follows the traditional Jack and the Beanstalk story, while adding some very creative elements. The song in the middle is very cute. Kids love exploring the screens, finding the dancing chickens, and reading along. Educational and entertaining at the same time. Great job Ayars Animation team! Thank you for enriching our lives.

No audio!

Kind of fun but no audio, no matter what I did. A little pricey for what I got.

Fun game

My granddaughter's favorite game. She loves finding the hidden chick. Not sorry on this one.

I almost did not buy it…

I almost did not buy this book because of the complaints regarding the sound. Well, I took a chance and I also had problem with the sound. However, if you click on the links for the website they show you how to troubleshoot your issue. Lo and behold, sound! Even I had fun trying to figure out the “secrets” on the pages. My granddaughter is going to love this!

Best Ipad Book We've Found

by 6 cups of rice krispies · January 5, 2012

I have about 30 children's books on my ipad and this is my 5 year old daughter's favorite. Each page has lots of different interactive elements. For example, on the first screen shot above, the three mice characters can be dragged into their shape and they will sing a song. Each touch of the drain pipe produces bubbles that flow out and "pop" when pressed. Each page has lots of elements - there is even a matching game on one of the pages where it looks like a man's hand holding three beans. The number of interactive elements are huge and this is the book that my daughter always goes to, even after about 4-5 months. She also loved it when she was 4. Another reviewer stated that she had expected more then animal noises, but there are much more than the animal noises, golden eggs play music, chicks sing, characters talk when touched and there are at least two long-ish games within elements that we have found. Amazing app - I came back to find it they have any others.
