8 of 25This would be great if it would allow me to share documents or presentations(PDF would be great) so I wouldn't need a laptop with me to present at meetings.
The integration so that I can click on links in email and launch the WebEx viewer are a nice touch. Being able to chat with other participants is great. It is more intuitive on the iPad than on the web. Speed is acceptable but probably the only time I see a performance issue. Certainly a tradeoff I can live with. I'm also a fan of the integrated VOIP. Just use the iPad and go. It appears the client auto mutes too. This helps cut down on noise during presentations. Really impressed with how well the app works, especially when switching between WebEx and email...err I mean, Numbers. One way I use this app is a "client screen." I have my iPad running next to my laptop connected to a meeting I am hosting. This lets me see what the clients see, at a glance.
I downloaded this app and removed it almost immediately as it is pointless. The majority of what business people do with WebEx is online events, training, or "webinars." When people have small meetings, they're usually in a place where they can use a desktop or laptop computer, so they don't really need this functionality on an iOS device. The generally longer webinar-type events are where you want to have a smaller, more personal device that you can get comfortable with on a couch or in a recliner. This app just isn't useful without support for those online events. Heck, I'd even PAY for an app that did that!
Tried WebEx long ago when they were neonates and it was wildly expensive and offered very little. I thought maybe a global company like Cisco might have been able to raise WebEx properly through its adolescence. I was wrong. Just tried signing in to an important webinar on the iPad and got a silly message about how it wasn't the RIGHT kind of WebEx webinar. I'd laugh if I weren't upset about missing this. Thanks for failing me--again. And good luck in juvenile detention.
I just had my first webinar on the iPad and it was great! I love being able to be mobile during these things. My only issue is that I could not find a way to "raise my hand" so the speaker would call me and that is an issue (also I hate that I could not find a way on their website to ask this question)
It is a shame this app does not work since it appears to be custom made for the IPad. I have tried several valid meeting ID's with the app and they never work. (I have no problem with the same ID numbers on a PC.) Either there is a special type of server needed or this app just does not plain work. In any case I would suggest staying away until an update is posted.
Slap! Thats about the only thing you cant do with this app, is slap someone through your screen. This is a phenomenal app. Web Ex is Da Sh111t!
Please separate the mute button and audio disconnect button from the same drop down. Mute should be a one click operation. I typically mute and un mute many times during a call. Having to first drop down the menu under the mic icon and then click again to mute is I efficient. It also makes it easy to accidentally disconnect from the audio
