8 of 25I’ve been using ISub since about 2015. The only issue I’ve ever had with it is the lack of a decent CarPlay integration. You’re stuck using the Now Playing feature which doesn’t allow you to navigate outside the currently loaded playlist. Add that integration and it’ll be pretty close to perfect.
Works
The recent work put into the app is very much appreciated. There were some hiccups for the app over the last several years, but it is once again the premier Subsonic on iOS. It has no peer on Android.
I used iSub for a while and I like that it connects easily with my server and shows lyrics when available which is cool. But even with pre-loading of next song enabled, there is always a 1-2 second gap between songs, which I find really annoying. I reluctantly paid the $5 for the “play:Sub” app which does not have this problem and even lets you add cross fade.

iSub is a good app to try out streaming from your subsonic-compatible server. But for the long-run you think the gap might annoy you, play:Sub seems to be the best iOS app.
I can’t believe this. I barely have the words but let me try and make clear, this is once again THE ABSOLUTE, NO DOUBT ABOUT IT, BEST STREAMER APP IN THE APP STORE for those of us who continue and will never stop rocking our own Subsonic, AirSonic, Navidrome collections. Wow! I had all but given up on finding even a basic app that hadn’t been seemingly abandoned and I have always loved iSub but as time marched on, it had difficulty keeping up but all of that apparently is to my great delight, in the past.

Why haven't you downloaded the app and fired up your server already? Seriously you should already be doing it. This is so amazingly exciting!!

I just want to give a sincere thank you to the developer who breathed new life into their app and into what I assume will be a very grateful and enthusiastic community in the days ahead. Thank you! Thank you!
I’ve been using this app for about 6 years, and new updates December 2020 have freshened it up once again. It’s always been the beat at what it does, easy use of subsonic (or other apps that use the subsonic protocols) on your iPhone. Now it functions in line with the latest iOS specs and still feels great to use. Thanks for the great updates!
With the recent update, it’s back to its full glory - easily the best way to listen to music on the iPhone.
Trying to connect to a navidrome server as they claim isub can handle it. I am getting invalid semicolon separator in query. So it is a solid 1 star for me.
