"Best app of its kind, hands down, 5 stars - I've downloaded pretty much all of the apps in this genre (iExit, BestExit, iAmerica, Road Tip, and Easy Exit), and I don't have to think twice when saying iExit is the best. It's got the best user interface, it's easily, the fastest and for some reason, it's the only app in the genre that's smart enough to know whether I'm on or off the interstate. This update proves that you guys are on the ball as it contains precisely the features reviewers wanted to see in version 1.0. Knowing whether a POI is left or right off the interstate is invaluable, and having those locations plotted on the map is perfect. Great work!" -- RoadWarrior11
You’ve had it happen; you’ve been on a road trip and have gotten hungry. You were unfamiliar with that part of the interstate, so you took the nearest exit to try and find something to eat. Ending up in a little greasy spoon put some food in your belly but also upset it because the food really wasn’t very good. The service was even worse. Still, you didn’t know how far away the next exit was, so better to eat a bad lunch then no lunch at all. Getting back onto the highway, you discovered a popular chain restaurant at the very next off ramp. If only you’d known!
Thanks to iExit, you never need to have this problem again. Find gas, hotels and restaurants, right from your iPhone and without an internet access. The iExit app will tell you not only what's at upcoming exits, but which exits have your favorite places. Find the next Starbucks or locate the nearest Holiday Inn. Pick your own brands in different categories or look at them all. It only takes a few seconds and allows you to plan ahead for the next few hours of your trip.
The iExit data is stored on your phone, so calling upon a website for information is not necessary. This is great for when you’re in rural areas or otherwise out of range for cell phone or internet access.
iExit capabilities are going to impress you. On average, it only takes ten seconds for the app to detect what direction you’re taking on the interstate and load the information for upcoming exits, including your favorites. It even integrates nicely with Google Maps to display up to 150 points of interest and exits, all on a single map.
Don’t worry about getting lost, either. iExit features full native GPS services. The app will tell you if your destination is on the left or right and how far away it is because it handles interstate junctions beautifully.
Features: * Shows points of interest (POI) at the 50 next exits *Gives directions (left/right) and distances for POIs relative to the interstate *Filters exits by only those with your favorite locations *Displays upcoming information in both a list and map view *Handles interstate junctions intuitively *Works even when you don't have phone service *Supports an offline mode so you can look up exits manually *Detects whether you're on the interstate or not, instead of always assuming you're on the interstate *Draws from extensive POI database from travel website, AllStays.com
Don’t take even one more trip without iExit. Download this app now for a more comfortable travel stop experience every time you drive on the interstate.
The next update will be major and include more detailed maps, directions and more. State and rural highways are coming soon as well.

8 of 25This gets ZERO STARS because the new version doesnt function. I gave it one star, the lowest grade allowed. I was looking forward to using this App on two trips in the Midwest this month from my home in Minneapolis and a trip to Florida in February. BUT IT DOESNT WORK AT ALL. crashes everytime on my 3GS with OS 3.1.3. No response from the developer to my emails. DON'T BUY THIS APP.
I LOVE THIS APP, ONE IF MY FAVORITES, but like others, have been using for months until recently. I have a 3gs. Now crashing immediately after name screen. I did read the description and appreciate the developers working on it, however I can't do the reinstall on my computer because I have XP pro 64-bit which Apple/iTunes does not support! So I'm double screwed! So, please fix as I can only download through my iPhone. Thanks. Otherwise awsome app and I REALLY miss using it, even locally as I live near the interstate.
It use to work but with the lasted update it won't even let me enter. Fix the problem and the stars go up.
While this was my first trip with the app...I found it useful once I learned how to use it. Heck, it even helped me find a Sonic for lunch. Bonus points with my wife. A landscape view would be nice, and I'm not sure why it wasn't included. It was hard to learn but once I sat down and looked at it for about three minutes it worked just fine. It did have a few errors finding me on the Interstate, but once I passed the next exit it worked fine. Not a problem since the exits were only about five miles apart, but I'd be upset if they were further apart since this happened often. This was the main reason for the four stars.
It keeps getting better. If you travel, or plan to travel, you need this application for you iPhone. It is NOT a Garmin, or a Magellan, so it is not going to give you that type of information. Use it, and pass along your comments - but please keep in mind that it can only do so much for you and it cannot hold every bit of data that each of us might need or expect, nor can it keep up with every opening and closing of establishments along our traveled routes.
While traveling across the USA I discovered this App. I purchased it and it did not work for a few days. We are now home for 2 days. I tried it again and it now works. Seems like it would be quite helpful while traveling. Good info without lots of extra info. The reason for the 3 star rating is that it did not work when I needed it to. It loaded quickly and I got my receipt for buying it quickly. Now that I have checked it out I would give it a 4 star. Maybe after I am actually using it while driving about I would kick it up to a 5 star. We will see...
I bought it because I have been looking for a rest area app when going on road trips. This app has much more. Great job!
This is an impressive app for anyone that drives on Interstate highways. It is so intuitive. Tells you if the Wendy's is right or left at the ramp. I mean it has "right" or "left" under the name of the POI. That doesn't sound like much but it shows how well thought out this thing is. I like Microtel hotels and Hampton Inns. This app allows me to only see my favorites at upcoming exits. Every city and town has exits that have a lot of places to eat, stay and gas up. I would call these "super exits." If you travel by car much you know what I mean. You are getting tired and you stop at an exit with one or two motels. You don't want to risk going further. With this app one flick of a finger and you see the that the next exit has dozens of places to stay and dozens of restaurants and a mall. A recent update now give directions to POIs. Haven't use that feature yet, but I tested it near my home and it is dead on. As good or better than my Lexus navi.
