Beautiful and Extremely Useful

by sitkaspruce · July 20, 2010

Arghh! I had been thinking about buying this app for weeks, and then guess what! I got a parking ticket !^&^%@! I really wish I bought this app when my instincts told me so. I could have saved $75! Now that I have the app I plan to never get another parking ticket. The graphics are beautiful, it's easy to use, and it has all the features that I want - including where I parked my car, and on which parking level if I'm in a multi-level garage. Can't recommend this app enough.

Now Found

Before this app I was always forgetting where I parked. Now no more problems & no more tickets! Thank you for this great app.

Solves a major headache elegantly and well

If you live in a big city, keeping track of where you park your car can be a real problem. Similarly, if you park in metered parking, keeping track of how much time is left on the meter is often forgotten during the events of the day. Fortunately, AutoPark excels at solving both problems. Keeping track of a meter is as easy as starting the app, then tap the meter slot and set the time. That's it. It will sound an alarm before the meter expires (actually, multiple, if you want to), so you have time to go back to the meter and move your car or feed it more coins. Keeping track of where your car is parked is as easy as tracking a meter. When you park your car, hit your car button in the app and use GPS to set the marker on the map. Done. On the way back, you can then use GPS to navigate back to your car. If you park in your car park, you can take a picture of the stall you are in or use the interface to quickly store the name of the car park, the level, color of the level and the stall number. I cannot envision going to the City (for us that is San Francisco) without this app any longer. The only thing you need to remember is to use it when you park your car. Can life be any simpler?

Worth It!

This app is very nicely designed and seems to work well. I got stung by the lame parking meter app in Appzilla (which stops tracking meter time when the phone hibernates, so it's useless), so I carefully considered my options when shopping for a parking app. The price tag on this one seemed pretty steep, but I now feel the money was worth it. Phew!

Great app

I really love both the look&feel and the functionality of this app. Great job! Oded korczyn

AutoPark 1.0

by alwaysmprest · February 26, 2010

AutoPark 1.0 is just not very useful. The graphics are pretty, but when I tried to use to find my parked car, I was unable to get it to give me a map or an address. Good thing I remembered where I parked. I was shopping in a hurry, and wasn't sure I could get a reliable meter alarm out of this app. Good design requires that the basic functions are obvious and easy to use, and more time makes the depth of the app apparent. The map feature is available in other every app of this type, and the access icons are now standard (from the Apple Maps app), and AutoPark doesn't use them. I like to play with design, so I have the max of 176 visible apps on my phone. If each one requires a learning curve of 30 minutes, I won't get any sleep for 3 1/2 days. AutoPark would be a interesting start if it was free, or an amusing bit of fluff if you have 99 cents to throw away. Charging 4.99 for this non-functional app is a brazen cheat.

Does not work in the background

I set a meter for 7:50 pm and it did not alert me whatsoever. What use is this if it doesn't work in iOS4 in the background... Sorely disappointed.
