Flickr

Both viewing & downloading photo are super low resolution! I can no longer download videos! Just the thumbnail pic of the video is saved. What happened to this app?????

I used to love Flickr. It was the only “social” app I used and I paid for the pro membership. The update forced on users in July 2026 is impossible. Did the developers ever use the old version? With the update you have to login every time you open the app. You have to set the perimeters for photo library access. The order of the images posted are no longer newest in the feed so if you want to check on photographers you follow you have to scroll and scroll and scroll. <br/><br/>I will not be renewing my pro membership and will delete my account. It could not have been worse if Musk bought Flickr and renamed it XPics. Trashed it. Completely trashed it. Thanks for nothing, Flickr. <br/><br/>By the way, I don’t like it.

The old version was a fantastic app. Everything was clear and visible and nicely laid out. You could expand photos to fill the screen. The new version is a steaming pile. The layout is annoying, everything is weirdly placed and not self explanatory, and you can no longer view photos full screen.

The new viewing experience is good, but uploading is badly broken. No longer receives from Share sheet, and fails unless you grant the app full access to your library. Old version did not have these flaws. Does Flickr have anyone who works in QA?

The new mobile version of Flickr is a movement backwards in user friendliness. You’re no longer able to turn the phone sideways (landscape) for a larger view or zoom in as far as you used to be able to. There’s now a limit to the length of the caption for each image. If the caption goes longer than the unknown limit, you can’t see it. Even after hitting the “view more” option to continue reading.

Downloading photos now saves no embedded data and forces the lowest possible resolution. Scrolling/swiping through searches no longer works. Won't be using until these are fixed.

The new update to this app is a huge downgrade. Landscape shots can no longer be viewed full screen by rotating your device. It’s like they tried to make the app more like IG. This is not a plus for photographers. Please fix it. I’m a loyal Flickr user for 19 years. I do not want to go back to only using Flickr on a desktop or laptop, but this new app is unusable. Photos also seem to lack resolution compared to the previous app version.

With the ground up rewrite I’m no longer able to load my photos from iOS, no longer an option, to choose. In the app when I upload I’m not able to batch title, tag, add to albums or set privacy. Also, what happened to the image editor? It was a great basic editor with useful options. Please tell me these features will be restored soon or given the option to load the legacy version.
