Has potential...with an update

by JavaGenki · November 25, 2009

The book looks fairly good but is somewhat useless as the longer code examples run off the page. iPhone gestures do not seem to work for me. Hopefully they will fix this with an update. I'll revise my rating then.

Zoom in and out with "the pinch"

by Lee Holmes · September 25, 2009

I was surprised at how difficult it was to read the code samples at first, too. However, if you are having trouble seeing code samples, you can use the traditional iPhone zoom in and out gestures (pinching) to see more text. Hope this helps. (Rated the book a 3 just so I don't influence ratings!)

Good but not Great

The ebook reader is actually pretty good. <br/><br/>From: <br/>Page turning animation that behaves better than some I've seen.<br/><br/>The ability to read in landscape <br/><br/>Control screen brightness in app<br/><br/>The only thing that's killing me is the code examples get cutoff. Even when using landscape mode, some commands are just too long and still get cutoff. If they continued on another virtual page I'd have been happier. I've only gotten to chapter one but if there are any longer code blocks, scripts or massive one-liners, it's only going to cutoff more code. <br/><br/>Please Fix! The book content so far has been what you expect from O'reilly: Great!
