8 of 25Tried a number of pomodoro apps. I think this is the best of the bunch. Loud ticking sound that is easy to hear, plus the ability to make a note of the current task.
This is the one pomodoro app, of all the free and paid ones I tried, that I continue to use. As a previous reviewer mentioned, this app is the closest to the simplicity of using a kitchen timer for the pomodoro technique—and more accurate!

The timer's tick can be heard behind audio from other apps, continues while in other apps (multitasking support), and still plays when the phone is locked. The UI is a pleasure with both vertical and horizontal modes. In vertical mode there is a "sticker" to note what you're working on, along with a tab you can bring up to mark how many sessions you've completed (or interrupted).

There are no stats and no task lists, which takes away diddling minutiae and lets me focus on whatever I'm doing.

Definitely worth the (inexpensive) buy!
Excellent app - works as described. Love especially that it ticks "through" music like iPod or Pandora. Only suggestion is to be able to hear ticking while within other apps too. I'd love to be able to keep on task even after I switch to another app.
There are several free options that work better.
I love the design of this app - very slick!

UPDATE: Now that I've used it some more, I'm liking it even better.
When I did my last phone sync I was really confused because my Pomodoro timer had been replaced by Wind-up Timer. Well, no reason to worry. The app looks slightly different and progress tracking is slightly different, if I recall (perhaps just the terminology) but essentially it does the same thing. If you want it to time your tea, it does that, or if you want it to time your tasks when you're using something like the Pomodoro technique, it does that too. Simple and reliable.
It's everything you need in a Pomodoro productivity app to focus and get to work. No distractions. As close to a real kitchen timer as you can get. There are good reasons it does not do more. I have honestly tried ten or more pomodoro / kitchen timer apps for use with the pomodoro technique and this makes me the most productive. That is the bottom line. Other apps may track completed pomodoros better or let you organize your todo list, but trust me. You don't need those things. You need simplicity, clarity, and self accountability. This app fits the bill. It gets out of your way so you can get to the work that is really important. Also very useful as a regular kitchen timer! LOL (Developers: I love the interface. Thank you for being brilliant. The simplest solutions always are!)
This is pretty much all anyone needs for a pomodoro timer. It works in the background, ticks while the screen is off, and even functions as a regular kitchen timer. It's simple, which means you're not getting so involved in the app that you're losing focus on your task.

I would love like heck to see an iPad version of this app, something that gives me a more paper-like way to track my pomodoros.

Meanwhile, this is a fantastic little app, at a superb price.
