Help the small red bug Kribl on its way through a deadly swamp. An endless rain of spiky fruits and Kribl's lack of swimming and flying abilities force you to move by tilting chest-like labyrinths left by mysterious former inhabitants. The rotation of the chests leads to a clever 2d-physics-based game, combining elements of puzzle and platformer games.

With its cute'n'weird graphics style, Ynth might look harmless initially, but solving all puzzles requires serious amounts of both thinking and dexterity. Find the right path through 79 challenging levels in this unique game.

Compete with the best Ynth players online! Ynth features OpenFeint to provide online highscores and achievements as well as integration with Facebook and Twitter.

Try the free Ynth Lite version to experience the first levels of Ynth.

- OpenFeint online highscores and achievements - Custom-built for iPhone, super-smooth physics-based gameplay. - Every level completion unlocks two new challenges, therefore it is possible to skip single levels that seem hard. - Easy and intuitive controls. - Beautiful handdrawn artwork. - More than seventy levels. - Handmade music and sounds. - Keep listening to iPod tracks while playing the game.

Reviews:

"Getting us convinced you have a puzzle game better than the rest is a task. Ynth finally gets everything right with the latest update, and we can safely say this game is one of the best puzzles in the store." - The APPera

"Ynth is easily one of the most pleasant surprises I’ve found in the app store. A great mix of Puzzle and Platform (maybe we’ll call it Puzzleform) with a very polished and professional presentation." - Appversity.com

"This is a must buy for anyone who loves a good challenge every now and then. The graphics are outstanding for this type of game, and suit this game perfectly. The music is fine and very well presented. The controls make this game a shoo in for arguably the best puzzle platformer in the appstore." - App Tappers

Best. Puzzle. Platformer. Period.

by Ahiru · December 5, 2009

This puzzler is simple awesome. It feels like Mario and Sokoban with lots of thinking... Everything is flawless here, controls are great (no tilting THANKS GOODNESS!!), graphics are simple but the somewhat obscure and mellow theme completes the circle, and there are lots of levels - some are easy, some are hard and frustrating - perfectly balanced... The objective is to lead the bug from one side to the other, jumping, avoiding falling fruits, falling in the mud, falling from heights, getting smashed by ice(?), jumping on springs and the craziest yet: tilting (by touching arrows thankfully) maze boxes that changes the platform positions, the way you can reach the other, etc... That's pretty clever, and levels varies a lot. If you like platformers like this (Mario-slash-Sokoban) this is simply a must have. My suggestions: how about a way to zoom-in while on large boxes?! The bug gets way too small on screen, and (maybe cause I'm colorblind) it gets hard to see it while outside (confuses with the background), therefore hard to control jumpings and avoiding brown fruits... And possibly a level editor!?!?? A way to exchange levels?!?! Oh, did I mention it has OpenFeint Achievements?!?!? And they aren't some boring ones, they are also clever and fun to get!!!

Question about game

by ncgamegirl · June 15, 2010

LOVE the game but is anybody else having a problem on the level w/the fruit and the one way box? When you get to the end of the puzzle, the bug gets stopped going into the next level. It freezes @ the opening and won't go any farther. Is it b/c of the Feint update that I saw other people post about?

Very fun and addicting puzzle game. It gets challenging, but that's what makes it fun. And it would be awesome if an update comes with a level editor. Other than that, it's worth the buy.

diference is cool!

so I TOFTT and was mad suprised at how good this game is. from the start, this game is about a beetle trapped in a box that you control to safely move the beetle to the other side. aside from the price tag (4.99$), this game has bits and pieces from a platform game, a hyper puzzle game. timing is key in most places as things fall from the sky that try to make you ded. tons of levels are available and more to DL later on. try the light version, but I gaurantee that the full version will be perfect for most people ghat love casual but thinking games.

Amusing puzzler

First off, let me say that there are a ton of levels to play. That along with the time challenge gives players a lot of replay value. Other than that, the game has a simple concept and is done very well as the levels get more complex. Both challenging and amusing, for puzzle lovers and design aesthetic minded gamers, I highly recommend Ynth.

Extremely frustrating..many of the levels are impossible with the falling fruit killing you, therefore making you start from the beginning again. I've pissed away countless hours that I'll never get back thanks to this game. To the creators of it, here's a big 'F*** You'.

Excellent game

Probably one of my favorite puzzle games of all time, it's challenging and fun! Plus there is a lot of content.
