Purchased this app for an upcoming trip to Amsterdam. It is very intuitive and easy to bookmark places we want to go. We had purchased a tour guide book which had a fold out map and it had some good ideas but I dreaded the thought of using a paper map, made my head spin just looking at it. And not having cell phone service over there was a worry because I use the gps all the time in the states. Then I found this app and very much relieved. I'm starting to bookmark some of the places we want to check out and cant wait to use the gps function when we get over there. Thanks Smart Maps!!
I travel to Amst often, this is always with me. Even my local Amst. Friends are impressed
Once you've typed something into the search bar, you can no longer use search. Whenever you click in search and type a letter on the keyboard, the keyboard disappears. Buggy app!
All the smart map apps are great. This one was very helpful. Using this app helped get me around the city with great ease. Also, pointed out "shops", bars, and other points of interest.
Sure the app has many POIs but absolutely no descriptions. How do you know the restaurant or shop is good or what kind it is? You don't. It's a crapshoot.
I'm one of those people that obsesses about having the best map for their trip. This one is pretty good. It is at least as detailed as any printed street map, down to the level of showing where house numbers appear on blocks. It has lots of useful icons for places to eat, shop, etc. It's usable at various zoom levels. You can add placemarks to help you plan your next day of sightseeing.

A few things would make it better:
1. The tram lines should show the number of the line and where it stops.
2. It would be cool if some of the icons were clickable for more info. But I guess that would make it a guidebook, not a map.
3. It would be cool to be able to name the placemarks yourself (currently they just take on the name of the nearest location on the map).
There are 300 some POIs but they do seem to be very useful. The map area is rather small; it does not even include the Schiphol Airport.
