8 of 25Amazing! Works well for quick inspirations or for adding to your Final Draft screenplays. The character list is an awesome tool for someone who cannot remember their character names. If you are serious about writing a script and/or use it as a hobby to pass some time at work nothing compares to this app!
Great little app! I use it every single day. It crashes every now and then, but luckily, nothing is ever lost. The only options I would like to see in a future update are notes, and page counts. I really like knowing where I stand when I'm writing, and page counts would be a welcome addition. Keep up the good work guys, and I'll keep writing!
Almost a year since it's last update, crashes on launch on iPhone 4.
This app is awesome! It took a little bit to get used to, but then it was great!
Screenplay by Black Mana Studios is an absolute game-changer. The platform is clean, intuitive, and clearly built by people who understand storytelling and the creative process. Everything flows smoothly, making it easy to focus on writing instead of fighting with the software. Whether you’re outlining ideas or refining a finished screenplay, the tools feel thoughtful and purposeful. What really stands out is how professional yet approachable it feels — powerful features without being overwhelming. It’s clear a lot of care went into the design and functionality. If you’re serious about screenwriting and want a platform that supports creativity instead of slowing it down, Screenplay by Black Mana Studios is well worth your time.
Without a tab feature for scene headings, action, etc., it's difficult to get lost in the story as you write. It is a good program for editing scripts, just not writing them. I have Final Draft on my computer and it's not a substitution for that program.
**** Update **** I lowered my rating from 5 to 3 stars. I'm using the app more now but the promised online back is not working. I will give them credit for fixing the stability issues I experienced. Also, this app needs to be available for the iPad. Larger screen means less strain on the old eyeballs. ********************************************* I love the design of this app and the UI but have not yet used it's potential because it keeps crashing on me. PLEASE UPDATE with bug fixes!!!! Everytime I try to use landscape mode the app quits. I'm REALLY looking forward to using this app so please fix! ********************************************* v1.1 is OUTSTANDING!!!! They've actually listened! Thank you for the all important fixes.
The formatting is off when exported in .txt. If exported in .fdx, you must purchase an additional app to view it on iphone..
