Stories don’t load at all. I have tried deleting the App and reloading but nothing works.

App stopped updating articles

by WV-player · February 20, 2026

App hasn’t updated articles in 15 days. And, no response to an email to support regarding this in nearly a week. Used to be a good app but it has stopped working.

How can a Pro Apple app be so poor !!!

by Dr.Alban · August 20, 2019

This must be the worst and cheapest app developer ever, or actually the laziest. Can’t believe they don’t support iPhone X screen yet !!! And they are all about Apple!

I don’t have the ads problem of ads taking over. But the iPad version stops updating every while to the extent that I have to remove and re install.

The content however is great and a must have app, only for the info it provides.

And I love the MacDailyNews take commentary.

UPDATE... it took them a long while to get their act together... shame on them... but the latest iteration is great.

I only miss the ability to increase font size, hence 1 Star less

Agree that redirects to AppStore are bad

by TomcruiserMO · November 29, 2020

November 2020 update: The app continues to pop up a message about how bad things are, and it does it for every article. Unfortunately, the developer hasn’t learned, and it is time to uninstall the application. Instead of whining about how bad advertising rates are, how about building a subscription model into the application? $0.99/month or $9/year and it gets rid of all of the ads. While it doesn’t have the progressive, wokeness of so much of Big Tech, I’m tired of seeing the same old “sky is falling” message on every article I click on.

April 2020 update: The app now pops up a message that advertising rates are bad and to please support them. I don’t mind a pop up for the first article that I click on until the next time that I open up the app, but it is repeated over and over for each new article that I click on. For that reason, I’m dropping my ranking from 5 stars to 2 stars. I’m sorry they’re having difficulty but popping up the same message over and over again is not the way to solve the problem.

I am pleased to say that I can raise my ranking to 5 stars from the previous 3 stars. The reason? The ads are much improved and no longer have their obnoxious behavior.

Old version of the review; no longer applicable:
I am finally coming to the conclusion after constantly being sent into the AppStore while trying to read articles that it is time to uninstall and use a browser like Blaze to read MacDailyNews. Like others, I might be willing to pay $1.99 to remove ads. I abhor the switch to the AppStore. If I can be assured that it has been corrected, I will reload it.

Needs big update

by Rich W. · November 2, 2023

I like the timeliness and the content here. But the site is very slow to update, and badges no longer appear on the icon. Perhaps it’s a bandwidth problem. But an update is certainly needed.

Always used this app

Great Site, Horrible App

by Aldarion · August 22, 2019

Update: the latest version fixed the App Store link issue but the multiple banner ads are still overly aggressive. There is a regular banner ad at the bottom but another “pop-up” as that takes up the bottom right quadrant of the screen. I added a star (now 2 stars) for the App Store fix.

Original: Great site but I no longer use it every day. Besides aggressive banner ads, the app tends to launch the App Store to link to advertised apps. Having to shut down the App Store every time I select an article got tiresome.

Apple insider or iMore are much better apps.
