Report an issueiNet WOL is a tool to wake computer from sleep via a local network or the internet. Its outstanding feature is its easiness of usage and the simple setup process.
With iNet WOL you can:
• Wake computer on the local network from sleep • Wake computer via the internet • Sleep, shutdown or reboot a computer remotely (Mac OSX only at the moment) • Add new devices with one touch (need to enter MAC address since iOS 11)
iNet WOL scans the devices connected to your local network and shows them along with their name, IP and vendor at the tip of a button. You do not need to find out the MAC addresses or type them in. Just click on an item in the generated list to add it to your favourites.
Setup and usage:
Start iNet WOL and click on the device you want to wake up. Its that simple. For more detailed setup instructions regarding wake on lan via internet please see our website.
Prerequisites:
• iPhone/touch has to be connected to your lan • iPhone/touch have to be in the same subnet • Computer and router are connected via ethernet cable • Computers must be configured correctly for wake on lan • Network cards must support the standard Magic Packet format.
Additional prerequitsites for WOL via internet: • The network must be reachable via internet • Router must be capable of forwarding wol packages • Router and firewall must be configured correctly
Limitations: Wake On Lan with subnet directed broadcasts is not supported in version 1.0. We will implement this feature in a future update. Wake On Lan currently works within the same subnet.
iNet WOL is also included in our network scanner iNet, alongside with other network tools like ping, Bonjour scanner, portscan and more.
If you just need a fast and easy solution for computer wake up - iNet WOL is perfectly suited for you.

8 of 25...however, setting up WOL on the PC may not be trivial...especially when configuring a router for WOL over the internet. Once it's done correctly, this App works exactly as advertised. Good job!
Great app does exactly what it says it'll do! Use it mostly over 3G and works every time
Works great. I use my iTouch to turn on other machines remotely. Saves me time every day.
The app, for what it’s worth, is decent. Given remote login capabilities, it can send sleep and shutdown commands… but, at least on Sonoma 14.2.1, waking a sleeping Mac fails. The problem, and the reason I’ll be refunding when the purchase is pending, is that the only other two functions that work require SSH remote login access, and send commands directly to System Events, which is very insecure given it’s not asking for iCloud information, and just the system’s username and password. That’s not a setting I’d like to keep enabled on my personal system. If you need what it offers, it’ll work perfectly for you. If you wanted to have a way to remotely wake up your Mac without hitting your keyboard, maybe skip this one.
Works great to WOL my 2010 Mac Mini remotely over the Internet! Key steps: - Have a dynamic DNS service to point to your network's external IP. Enter this static address into the app - Set up my Time Machine to forward UDP 9 to my Mac's static IP address It can be done. Contact this app's tech support if you have issues. Don't leave a bad review just because you don't try hard enough or you fail because you don't know what you are doing. Again, it can be done and works beautifully on my 2010 Mac Mini over wifi with my Time Capsule, controlled by this app over the Internet.
Very easy interface, works well. Have to be connected to your network to work. Wasn't able to do remote over the Internet, but it's still very good product.
This app has worked perfectly for me 100% of the time! I use it to wake my Mac desktop, so I can send files to it from my iPad and iPhone. Worth every penny of the price.
etherwake, a command line app in Linux that does the exact same thing, is a whopping 11kb; yet, for some reason this is 63mb. What possible justification can there be for that? It's not even a universal app, and there's no real graphics to speak of. I have no idea how large it was when I first downloaded it in 2010. It has always worked as advertised, though.
