Troubleshooting Tips

I’m interested in searching for things to do at a place that I am planning on visiting, but I am only seeing places that are closest to my current location. How do I explore places at another destination?

By default, Travel Channel GO always returns the places closest to your current location, using the GPS capabilities of your iPhone. However, you can easily search for places at a different location using the search box on the top right of the screen when viewing a list of places. When you enter in the location at which are you interested in viewing content into the right-hand search box, the results will be refreshed to show the places nearby the specified location.

During registration, it says that my email address is already registered, yet I have not created an account for Travel Channel GO. How can I register a new account with this email address?

If you are experiencing this issue, it means that you have likely already created an account with the Socialight network (http://socialight.com). You can use your existing Socialight account to login to Travel Channel GO and there is no need to create a new account in this case. If you have forgotten your account details, tap the ‘Forgot Password’ option on the Login screen to have your account details sent to your email address.

Promising, but whats taking so long?

by Gigiliz · November 15, 2010

After at least a year, this app is crap. All I get is a message telling me I'm in NYC. Wrong. I'm in Alabama. Then i get a blank screen. Are you folks even TRYING to make this a usable app?

Go where? There's nothing here

by TigTed · July 9, 2010

As others have noted after the main screen comes up, nothing else loads. The circle spins and spins and spins. No Sam Brown no bizarre foods, nothing loads. Wait for them to fix it b4 downloading.

Doesn't do anything

by @Carl · July 18, 2010

Every category seems to be blank. I can apparently add things like photos to the listings of local restaurants, but why would I want to do that? I was instead seeking content about travel, not businesses across the street that I already patronize.

Blows

by Drack69 · July 16, 2010

I would give a better review but it doesn't work on iOS4. I understand it takes time to update apps but it's been long enough now and the developers have had it even longer. I have deleted it until an update is out.

Best app ever

If you love watching the travel channel then you will love this app trust me!!

Not user friendly

by Blueturbo · December 20, 2010

Limited resources, doesn't include all of their US locations. And considering that they only cover four shows, I don't think it would be too much to ask to include more detailed content. Defaults to NYC even after updating location. Difficult to search and disappointing results. Pretty much a waste of time.

The loading takes way too long for the advanced iPhone. Travel channel get it together.
