HOW TO USE: The user is presented with images of the Head and Neck. The user can zoom in to any area of the head and neck - by taping on a region - taping again will zoom in further - eventually the user will have zoomed into a individual bone or bone region. The user can then identify the different bone parts by pressing on the flags. Each label is in English and in Latin and by pressing on the 'i' icon the user can access additional information on a label. There is also a super Magnification Mode that greatly magnifies a bone part allowing the user to press on flags that are close together!
INDEX: The app can also be used as a visual reference tool by using the index: By simply selecting an English or Latin name from the index - the application will show the user where it is located - by zooming into the appropriate region and finding and labelling the item requested.
VIEWS: Throughout the app - even while zooming in - the user can get different views, including x-ray or skin views and of course the anatomical views: anterior, lateral, posterior, medial and even inferior and superior where appropriate.
QUIZ: This is a handy and fun testing tool - the app asks the user to zoom in and identify parts of the skeleton. If after three attempts the user is unable to identify the bone part or ligament he/she can ask the app to show them.

8 of 22This app is non-user friendly instead of helping you learn the anatomy of the skull it confuses you and just makes the anatomy of the skull seem more difficult than it actually is. DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT.
Very consice. Take advantage of it being free. I will probably buy the full version in the future. I am a dental hygiene student and this app has helped me learn the bones of the head and neck. There are different views as well an you can zoom in and out. It also has an explanation of everything. I loooove it!!!
I got this for the quiz & it's unusable. You cannot accurately touch the flags you need to or easily move the skull around. A big box takes up the lower portion of the screen & if the flag marking the bone structure you're trying to identify is partially covered by the box & you can't move the skull up despite repeated attempts, you can't answer the question. And sometimes the touch sensitivity is too sensitive & others not enough. It's very frustrating.
It's a good study tool and very informative. I like the detail. But it's difficult to use as far as taking the quiz. The touch is too sensitive at times and not sensitive enough at others. And you have to learn how it wants the questions answered. It was free so that's good but I don't think I'll get the full version unless they fix that. Especially not for $20.
Great free app that led me to purchase the full body version. Great graphics, good level of detail, and nice zoom and information features.
I am a high school senior taking anatomy this year, and I'm going to be a pre-med student next year. I love this app! I'm really starting to figure out where everything is on the human skull. The quiz is really helpful. :) I do wish that it was a full skeleton though...but it is still really good.
As a nursing student, I was seriously considering purchasing an iPad and some anatomic reference apps, but this has certainly delayed my decision making. On first impression, it does seem to have a thorough glossary. Unfortunately, the quiz portion of the software has continued to freeze up when I use it. I understand it's a free app, but with most complete anatomic apps costing $20+, I have little faith purchasing a "full-version". Still Searching...
