8 of 25This app may be ancient, but it does exactly what you need it to do. *Make sure you give the helper app on your Mac accessibility access*. I’m using it to control my laptop playing videos in Firefox. My phone is now my media remote!
Love this app!

If it does not connect just kill the app and relaunch.

My go to solution when the kids loose the Mac mini keyboard.

Thanks!
I’ve been using this app since getting my first Mac in 2014. Everything from multitouch controls, to app launching, media remote, and pinch-to-magnify makes this app a must-have for anyone owning a Mac.

For the past several years, this app lost the critical functionality to move the magnified screen around via dragging the mouse pointer to the edge of the screen. Suddenly after a Rowmote Helper update, that functionality is restored, and I am over the moon to have the full, robust Rowmote back again after so long.

Does this app need additional updates? Sure. It’s still not optimized for FaceID phones, and hasn’t seen an iPhone app update for years now. The promise of a “Rowmote 2” by the creator in 2016 ended in radio silence. Still, I love the app for all its benefits and it’s helped me on many late night, bedtime YouTube nights.
Constantly disconnects
This app used to be amazing. Now with, I guess all of the iOS updates, this app very rarely even connects, or in the middle of using it, it disconnects. If anything does work at all it’s only the pause button. The mousepad/trackpad never works period. Very disappointing. Used to be quite amazing.
The Pro version is easily the best remote when it works. For years now it’s been ridiculously difficult to connect to my computer. It often takes 10 attempts to connect. It’s incredibly frustrating. I’ve written to the dev about it twice and he was dismissive. Roll the dice and try your luck.
With the update to Big Sur came the Airplay feature no longer being executed. When I try any airplay feature with Rowmote pro and the latest helper update none of the actions work. Please let me know if I can fix this on my own or if it is a known bug being addressed. Thanks for the terrific app. Been using it for years.
I love this app, but when can it be updated to be compatible with new iPhones?
