Exclusively on Iphone.

"You take a picture of the boules layout, and then center a circle with adjustable radius on the target ball. The first boule to touch the circle is closest. Very simple." -- PetanqueAmerica.com

Do you know the famous french game "petanque" or "bocce" (mainly played in south of France). Well if you play it you will use BoulOmeter to know which ball is closer to the "cochonnet". Use the embedded Iphone camera to take a picture of the balls scene. Click "use", then use the sizable circle to know which ball is closer, it's as easy as that.

Features: - Use of the Iphone embedded camera - Cicadas background sounds for great Mediterranean immersion - Anti-Cheat system

Nifty, but...

This is a well-crafted app that would work well, but for the fact that sunshine washes out the iPhone screen so badly as to render the app useless. Sigh... too bad, since it nicely solves a perennial problem facing boulistes as they pursue their passion.

Interesting but almost useless

The concept is elegant, but it’s almost impossible to use. In the sunlight, the iPhone display is almost impossible to read, and to actually use the app you have to get your phone absolutely level, which takes time and is really hard to do in real life. By this time, your teammates are urging you to get on with it and use a ruler.

Great bocce measurement app!

This is a brilliant way to gauge distances while playing bocce, boule, or petanque! The only suggestion I would make is to utilize the level app as well because if the phone is tilted, it can affect measurement. But so great otherwise!
